At the dealership now for some warranty work and they tell me the front brakes are toast as well. For added fun have nails in the front left and back right summer tires, will swap out to winters early and deal with that later since it's just a matter of weeks to change them up anyways.

So car has stock Brembos and dealership cost is insane to replace so might as well go aftermarket for added bite and hopefully cost savings.

Any suggestions for pads and rotors to fit brembo calipers? Hawks? Stoptech? EBC?...other? Slotted, drilled, blank disk?

Wasn't planning on replacing at just 30,066 km (3yrs of ownership on Oct 31) but it is what it is.

pretty much everything you listed would be good lol, just pick which level you'd want and what fits your budget. not a fan of stoptech (or is it powerstop? one apparently is cheap makde in Chinar stuff). i've used the other brands you've mentioned and they're all good.

hawk hps prob the least dusting of aftermarket pads. my ebc dusted a lot. there's also entry level ferodo too if you want. do not get drilled rotors (well, cheap ones anyway) no need and can crack in our environment depending on your usage. blank is honestly just fine, or get slotted if you want to.

just call nextmod in markham, give them your make model and they can quote you pretty quickly on everything that fits your ride.

i notice many brands oem brakes are done at already 30k or even less sometimes! cheaping out on rotors? pads poor compounds not cleaning enough surface rust off? design? our environment? all contributing to early brake replacement, which sucks as a customer.

When I had my Genesis, I dealt with Uniq Performance, he was to go to guy for most things Genesis related. He had better prices then places like Nextmod or the other JDM places. Anyplace can get brake parts, but Uniq specialized in Genesis stuff, so he knows whats good.

I don't know about Hyundai, but whatever you do get OEM spec pads.

I've had EBC, Hawk, etc all that shit isn't practical for the street, either too much dust, don't stop well until really hot, etc. On my M3 and S4 I made the mistake by going with what's hot on the "internet forums" and it's total bullshit in the end. Nowadays I only use OEM pads, rotors you can go for brembo/zimmerman blanks (zinc coated) and you should be good to go.

I am probably going to get hated for this now

Definitely deal with Rob at Uniq. I buy stuff for the dealership from him too. I had Hawk HPS on my Coupe and absolutely loved them. Actually considering swapping the pads on my Sonata to them.

Unfortunately 30-40k on OEM factory insalled Brembo pads is about the norm across the board. Replacement pads last longer...but they're fucking ridiculous in pricing. I don't even stock them anymore.

I used to run hawk hp plus with powerslot on my Civic and found it was a tad Overkill but definitely improvment from stock. That said. The fact that your car comes stock with brenmbo calipers, I'd leave it stock. More than enough

The problem is the stock pads Hyundai decided to use. They are cut down and have much less area then they should. Low dust, noise, wear, who knows why, but they wear out really fast and dont really perform as good as they should.

Literally any pad would be an improvement.

Thanks guys. I have a feeling that the rotors are fine but will check with my local shop to confirm and look into hawk pads.

Do your own research on the hawk HPS, good track pads, I didn't find them practical on the street between the noise and requiring a lot of heat to start grabbing. In day to day driving I had to work the brake pedal considerably more to get the same amount of stopping as OEM pads. Mind you this was on my M3 and a while back, things may have changed, and they may work better on your car...but do some research.

Sounds about right. Are they the same cut down pads that come stock on the car?

I'm currently running max brake pads on the rear of my rsx. No problem whatsoever (fronts are Hawks). I even put them on the front of my parents camry. I figure it's got to be similar to the shit you get at crappy tire.

Saw a few complaints on redflag deals regarding maxbrakes, both quality and customer service but I guess you will get that with everyone.

ended up picking up the brakes from maxbrakes, they seem like great quality, i'd say even better than crappytire/partsource or the same thing, but we will see if my gf drives into a wall after i install them.
