Bassinet beside bed for the first 3 months, then crib in their own room.

We took shifts so at least one of us could get some sleep.

So you all basically didn't sleep for months on end?

Trying to make sense of this or were you off on mat leave too? I can't be going to work wrecked for months.

NEVER sleep with your newborn on the bed. Accidents happen and you could kill the baby. Friends wife is a nurse and one of her infant patients died from the father rolling over and suffocating her. My daughter started sleeping in her own room after a month, before that she was in a bassinet.

Our kids were in their crib from day one. We started with the crib in our room for 3 months, then off to their own room. If you let your kid get into the habit of being in your bed, good luck. I know some parents who's kids were still in there on occasion at 8yo. Ugh.

If your wife is okay with it, put her straight in a bassinet or crib. It's more work for her to roll out of bed to feed the kid, but it'll be a better transition later when they're 6+ months.

For our first, I slept in the same room, and it was tiring. For the second, I slept in the other room until the kids were sleeping through the night. Both our kids needed a combo of breast milk and formula. On the weekends, I was the one that fed them in the middle of the night so that my wife could get some sleep. I got the process down to a science where I had everything ready in the room and could mix, feed, and change the diaper pretty quickly.

We keep her in the bassinet in our room for now, but will be moving her out soon.

I think I will start sleeping in the other room until her sleeping pattern becomes more manageable and switch it up on weekends like sw20 to help out. I see no benefit for me to lose sleep if I don't have to especially when I have to go to work.

fatso, another thing i recently discovered.

Washing your kid, just use the kitchen sink. We have one of those small bathtubs and i also watched shit on youtube, it's too complicated. Today we had a huge shit storm, shit went on the wall, all over her legs, my arms, etc so ain't nobody got time for youtube vids and bathtubs. I took her in the kitchen and washed her down with warm water like you would with a thanksgiving turkey. It was more thorough than the other methods and much faster. Just make sure you have towels to keep the kid warm right after or all hell breaks loose. Best to experiment when wife isn't watching tho ;\)

For the first few months, we used one of those shallow buckets that you can buy from the dollar store. They're maybe 1.5' in diameter and 5" tall. Just put it on the counter beside the sink in the washroom.

Yep. Kitchen sink is the best. Once they can sit up, I always washed them in the mudroom sink.

We picked up a shower head with a handheld spray thing for this purpose but... using the kitchen sink seems like an even better idea. Or maybe get one for the laundry room sink hmmmmm......

We bath the 3 year old in the laundry tub. What's the point of filling an entire bath tub? Plus if some water gets on the floor, I really don't care.

kid slept with me, but she was a good sleeper so no problems there. then moved her to a crib in the same room (in the condo at the time) and then she went to her own room when i got the nice condo at yonge/finch. her crib was dope and turns into a kids single bed.

Yay basic needs!!!

Picked it up last night. Drove it from Queensway/427 to almost Milton to get the new mommy-mobile home. Took us almost an hour as the summer tires really didn't handle the snow that well so I stuck to local roads instead of taking the highway...

Having ripped around in the R in stock form, I can't imagine a 530 hp version. Wonder how long the haldex will last with that much power...
