Just got back from getting the SUV swapped, pulled into the garage and notice one of the headlights are blown. On the side where I have to take out the whole damn housing to get at it too. Why couldn't this have happen on Friday when it was 18C.

It's suppose to be 6 this Sunday. I need to swap wheels on the M3 and planning to do it that day.

New? Didn't BMW do this in like.. 2005?

Much later than that. Maybe on the peasant models.

None of mine use the E-hand brake. (Thank goodness).

A gorilla that works at ParkShore BMW in Vancouver

The 3 other wheels were fine, all torqued to spec, don't ask me what they did to this one.

Sheared the 3rd wheel lock, even snapped a 3/8>1/2in adapter on my breaker bar I used after I hammered in a 12pt security socket to see if that would work.

If I had a 20mm 12pt I could probably get it off, but it's late, I'm hungry and I'm sick of working in the dark on this fucking car. I gotta now code out TPMS because of course the winter tires don't have sensors and the car doesn't like that.

I thought only US cars had sensors, and Canadian cars just used the ABS wheel speed sensor. I didn't need sensors for the X1 winter wheels. Do you have a US car?

Nope, Canadian car. If in fact they don't have sensors inside, why the fuck is my TPMS going crazy as soon as I removed the factory wheels?

I just reset via iDrive, we'll see if that does anything.

That's weird man. My late build 2011.75 used abs for tpms. Same with my M3. You sure you didn't get Nigerian scammed into a US car?

In my family alone we have 5 3 series lol

2006 330i auto
2006 330 manual
2008 M3 coupe
2008 M3 sedan
LCI wagon

All that's current spread across my pops and bro and none of those cars have sensors in the wheels.

Yea, no tpms sensors. Those wheel locks are a bitch! Back at the dealer, we would call an extra hour to break them free. Nice and slow with a hammer and brass punch. Eventually it'll budge.

If you can get a small amount of heat to the wheel lock like a butane torch, that would help some.

I broke 2 BMW key locks and a 1/2 inch extension before giving up and bringing my X3 to the dealer. These were BMW aka McGaurd flower pattern key locks. Couldn't bring myself to torch the lug nut as not to ruin the wheel finish. Switched to the newer style keys and haven't had an issue yet.

Interesting vid on the effects of applying anti-seize or lubricant on your wheel studs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3ndeXiZUeM I used to apply a small amount to keep the threads clean but not anymore.

How are guys snapping the wheel locks? This be cray.
BMW needs to be torqued to like 88 or some such right? Never had an issue with them (when I ran them). Though I no longer use wheel locks at all.

Speaking of changing up cars...Ontario plates are now up to CAWE xxx

Will they skip CAWK xxx? If not who's the lucky person to score the plate CAWK 069

oh and for you guys breaking lock nuts, not sure if you can do this with bmw wheel bolts but it's worth a try.

i did this on my friends integra. just grab a shitty socket slightly bigger than the lug, heat that fucker up on the stove (i used a propane torch) hold it by the extention and hammer that bitch on and let it cool. lug nut cranked right off.

I did that. I used a 12 point socket instead of the usual 6 point. Made it a bit easier.

One socket, one hammer and a breaker bar and off came the lock nut. Makes you wonder why we bother with those damn things since it's so easy to remove them without the key.
