Thanks guys! I paid a fair price. i think I got a decent deal as it's LHD in a RHD country.
I had a friend check it out and he raved about it, sent me a ton of pics. Now I just need to figure the most economical and safest way to get it here. It's probably going to go via container so I will probably try and get as many stock parts as I can (seats and wheels) because it's not like I can just find them laying around here.
As for price. Not sure yet. I'll let you guys know once it gets here

bah they got separated, two boats, 4 days apart.
Cosworth lands in Montreal on Dec 24th if my spare parts arrive at the car today! AS much fun as getting these cars is, it's really stressful! You are relying on others to get the job done. I have been extremely lucky in that I have found great reliable ocean shipping/inspection/purchasing/warehousing/broker/land transport contacts, but man I have a lot of money floating (literally) around!

I thought I would keep the 348 longer, but prices went up and our dollar dropped so I sold it to the US.
It's not just a game of car prices, it's also a game of exchange rates. yen VS CAD, CAD VS US.
I still want a Testarossa, '86 or '87. Or a 550 Maranello. I've never had a V12 car, maybe one day I can buy one and keep it for a while.
But if we are dreaming, a 365GTB please, just the sound of the starter turning over the motor is amazing lol

Do you buy the cars knowing they will be sold when they arrive or do you buy and hope to flip after? Have you lost any money on the flips or made good coin on all of them? Could this be a full time gig to pay the bills if you wanted?
I only buy cars I like, at a price I cam comfortable with, aka - I better damn well know what they are worth.
I've never lost money, some I bare made any, like the 426 hemi station wagon, I only made like 1500 on. But not bad for having fun all summer then selling.
As for paying the bills, I would have to open a dealership and bring in like 3-4 cars per month. Thanks to OMVIC that's not so easy. Would be a fun way to pay the bills that's for sure!
Also cars at the Japanese auctions are not the deals they used to be. More buyers, plus crappy CAN VS YEN exchange rates. Which is why I branched out to the UK
Buying the car is the easy part. Getting a "system" in place to get the car here and register the car is the hard part.
I have my Japanese supply line down to a T, so getting a UK supply line in place will be good. So far it's going swimmingly!
Oh and if you are wondering why the UK? Cheap shipping to Halifax (and from Halif to TO by enclosed truck is reasonable), fairly cheap container shipping to Montreal. And LHD drive cars in a RHD country should equal better prices.
It's amazing watch you do this, turninf some cash with a hobby like this.

the guy that checked it out did say that some panels where probably painted, but overall it looks in very original shape. There are some scratches and stuff you can't see in the pics. But overall it's in very nice shape.

I am >< that close to buying this out of Italy 1990 Toyota Celica GT4 Carloz Sainz edition 1 of 5000 Sainz edition cars. Has 200k on it, but it's one rare car in LHD, nad these old Celicas are going up in value even with high k Yes no?
cool car for sure, but i'd say pass. most people who would want to buy that would just go for a RHD GTS or something.

back in the day, like way back, a good friend had one of those, 4wd turbo with bolt ons and we added a 75shot of spray on it. we went to mexico in it, and he raced a guy with a civic for slips, and won. then raced a guy with a second gen integra for slips, won that. then raced someone else for slips for a civic hatch. his mom started to wonder where all these cars were coming from so he sold them all off for cheap lol

Oh I can get a LHD 01 CTR to Toronto for about 10k US ish
LHD Milano ITR is about double that, they are rare and not cheap. Almost double the price of white/yellow/black

Nope, all RHD and all originally Japan sold.
Anything you see in the EU/UK was imported from Japan, Honda never "exported/sold" any to EU/UK market directly.

It'd be tempting to buy and TRY to convert it back to stock but it'd be a challenge with how rare R parts are. from his write up i see it's a rebuilt title, no wonder given all the replaced body shit.
i notice there's a sunroof which type-R's never came with...EXCEPT for i think 00-01 it could have been an option.
at least in his last comment he states the stock rims are available and you can choose those or the orange ones

Picked up a cheap R on the weekend. Stored since 2011. Although it has been to hell and back, I think it's in good enough shape to restore. I wouldn't go nuts on it, but it would make a great daily driver that you can take to the track and not cry about every scratch! And those seats, 1 of 250 sets.

are they they 15" mf8 or mf10? those are more common i think.

I have a 2001 Euro spec ITR coming I had my guy in the UK drive out to Austria, buy the car and trailer it to the UK, from the UK it's going via container to Halifax
Why all the hassle you ask, check the seats Yellow! Has the matching yellow stich rear seats, yellow stich steering wheel, and yellow stich shift boot.
This is a Switzerland only special edition, yellow on yellow LHD! I have all service history, and it was owned by one family since new!
(center caps not pictured, they are in the car)
Euro Type Rs are essentially LHD JDM type Rs. They have the 4.7 FD and 11:1 compression

I very much to keep the car in the stock form rather than some ricer butchering it up. So you're one of those guys who fap over cars that are hard parked riced out cars rather than a full blown track car.
PS what does my car from the past have anything to do w/ it? I love Honda, they're great cars. I just don't like riced out garbage.

australia was the only country to get the yellow recaros for i believe the 00/01 DC2 type-R. so if that is a north american car, those seats came a looonnnggg ass way. No, most yellow sets you see came from Japan. They got them in the Rx models Australia also got them too. And only Switzerland got them in LHD cars

Actually, that setup wont pass any competition regulations.
Cant run reclinables with a half cage - and bolt in cages are not approved. It's a wicked looking car, but it def will not pass any tech for track.

c2k then ITR is not for you because race car. You should stick with Integra LS or SE or something basic. Stock hub caps, colour matched mirrors, no cage, no Mugen wing, not butcher at all. Perfect commuter car for Hamilton

The blue escort is sorta sold. Yellow r is in a container between Toronto and Halifax somehwre
I took the blue escort up and down my street and its bananas lol. Sounds like the onboard video from a rally car. The straight cut gear box make for interesting noises haha. And shift by just hammer in the next gear. The throws are soooooo short it's almost like a sequential gear box. It's an experience haha

for 2k delivered there is no other way to get that much secure storage any cheaper

From Austria, it traveled through Europe on a trailer to the UK. From the port in the UK by ship to Montreal. On rail from Montreal to Brampton in a container. Brampton on a truck to the warehouse near the airport.

You just need to keep on top of the seats with that colour interior. I wear jeans everyday as well. BMW used coated leather, so it's not the end of the world when your jeans stain the seats
That M-Sport is mint, just missing nav, but other then that? Sweet!!!!

check it out, acutally bought something to keep lol
I have not bought a new daily driver for me in almost 5 years  . I have been driving my trusty 2007 Diesel grand Cherokee for over 100,000km pretty much trouble free.
Previously I would buy a new daily almost once a year! I just could not find anything better than the jeep for what I needed to do.
When it was time to ditch my wife's 2013 Outback with 160k on it, it drinks oil like no tomorrow, and has developed a nasty rattle on start up.
after going to see some cars she had had enough, told me to buy something and she would drive the jeep.
After going back and forth on what to look for (was set on a 335D until I drove one, just too small), this 2011 535i with the m package and the all important manual trans pop up on BMWs CPO website last Friday. Only 82,000 Km on it too.
I nearly fell out of my seat! My unicorn! I have been searching for this spec in any gen 5 series off and on for a while.
I called then dealer and after getting some additional pic, I made the deal over the phone. These pics are from when I drove the hour out to the dealer to finalize the deal.
Its such a great drive, I mean really really good. The comfort seats and just GOLD! I love it!
I get to pick it up this Friday and I can't wait.
I also found out that this 1 of 1 in Canada, and 1 of 3 in North America built in this spec. 1 of 20 out of almost 41,000 cars that came with the M rear spoiler from the factory haha.

nope picks up right away. A friend has a 535xi with the M package and sport automatic, and you have that delay. I didn't like the auto. Kinda kills it for a "sports" sedan.

there have been some e60 535i 6 spds though.... so I think you were more set on the f10. E60 is better driving car, but these are more comfortable/bigger.
Its bigger than the old 7 series.

There is one 2010 on trader now with M package and AWD, 6SPD, but 155k
I haven't seen any others in RWD with M package. I did see some wagons but all 6spd AWD, no M package wagon that I have seen. Hey I may have missed them though haha
These are super comfy, should be a great highway cruiser. Problem is you don't feel like you are going very fast until you look down and are doing 85 in a 60.
The suspension does a great job of cornering flat but not jarring you over every pot hole.
I am excited to rack up the miles!

Thanks, heads up display was optional, i don't have it. I think the main use of it would be to remember not to speed lol. its so smooth and quite it;s easy to roll right past whatever the limit is

I do have US account. Problem though, it didn't have that kinda money in it to buy the BMW, so converted Canadian to yen and sell in USD gets confusing lol
Essentially it all needs to come back to Canadian
