Hah hah! It is not, but thanks. I need to get OCD.

I finally found a rolling toolchest I liked in this last year. That helped clean things up.

It's nice knowing that I don't have to move ever again, so I can actually do stuff.

I've been back and forth with him - gear whine on overrun. He took the tranny off - I asked if there were chipped teeth. No.

I asked if there were metal flecks in the fluid. No.

I'm actually worrying that it is normal whine. It's a loud gearbox. It actually sounds like a dogbox.

If you listen to it here, you'll see what I mean.

However, Peter Howe has restored other Daimlers, and that gearbox is used on Triumphs and many other British cars of the 1950s and 1960s, so there probably is a problem.

I'm just trying to focus on the 240sx. It's been in the paint shop for the last three weeks - should be done soon. That's a positive.

hmmm, not terrible sounding really, old cars make way more mechanical noise than any newer stuff. you are right though if it's a TR6 gear box it doesn't have to sound like that.

my garage plans are coming together soon, and I really don't need the scissor lift I have now, if someone wants it I would sell it

I had to post these, to show the beefy cables. I'm not kidding. This is elevator cable size.

And the transmission problem with the Daimler has been fixed!

From the restorer - I was happy to get this email.
Done – too much end float 2nd gear on main shaft.
