I have some great hand-me-down pots but my frying pans are just crap. They don't sit flat on the stove so its really annoying. I littlerally have to hold the pan while cooking shit, or balance the weight in the pan lol.
Anybody have anything thats good?

also its difficult to make bfast, the next morning \:D , for all the cougars I've been slaying lately

I read somewhere that pans tend to warp when people throw cold water on them while they're still hot. With that said, I've got a set of Calphalon Contemporary. No complaints - been using them for about 3 or 4 years and they've held up well. I don't use any metal utensils on them though.

As for something SS, I went the same set. SS outside, aluminum core - heats up pretty evenly.

If I'm honest though, when I'm cooking, I use cast iron pans the most. They're almost non-stick.

That's true. You should let the pan cool down a bit.

With that said, I also have a ss calphalon frying pan which I hardly use \:\) but also a cheapo henckles from kitchen stuff plus that's non-stick which I use more often for eggs and pancakes.

Canadian Tire often has Cuisinart or other frying pans for 50-60% off.

I was gonna buy a cast iron from Crappy a while ago but then I read you need to condition them or some shit and then oil it after and then it can't be used on high heat....i'm like wtf?!?! these pans are higher maintenance than a woman!

Might try take a look at the kirkland ones. Generally they have good products.

I don't do shit with my cast iron pans other that rinse with hot water when I'm done cooking. Once it's seasoned, everything should come off with a little elbow grease. I use them everywhere (Oven, BBQ, etc).

if you don't want it, i'll buy it off of you.

otherwise, stews/curries/chillis type stuff you would braise a long time with a relatively low heat would be a good use of it

This! We have some lodge trays that go on the BBQ, and the pans take high heat on the gas stove. Rinse and wipe dry

Yeah, all this stuff gets done in the slow cooker. I'll chat with the wife and see if she wants to clear some cupboard space.

Seasoning the pan is a one time thing that's done just before first use. Wash it with soap to clean it off, then oil it, throw it in the oven and bake it for twenty minutes and you're done. Soap should never see the pan again. Ever. The more you cook with it, the more seasoned it gets. It's like I said in my first post - it's almost as non-stick as my non-stick pans.

Lodge pans aren't expensive - $40 or so. Try it!
