My wife wants/needs a bigger car, the Sx4 just doesn't have the room. My daughter can kick her while she drives lol (not the main reason lol)
So i think we (mostly me, she doesnt care) wannt get a BMW, i was thinking a wagon (530i with a manual), but maybe a 355d?

Elmie cna you get a kids seat directly behind the front seats and still have the front seats usable?

But my ZHP i could get a rear facing seat behind the passanger seat and still have the person fit without removing their legs.

So i tried an STR8 wagon and got the same response. BMW wagon, was meh thats fine.

lol na it will be a wagon of sorts, maybe a 5 series sedan, but a wagon makes more sense
a 2006 ish XJ is one of my favorite cars, but damn they are tiny inside!

anyways, about the 335d...
I don't see too many of them at work, they usually just come in for regular service. Only one needed to intake manifold cleaned out because of the gunk left behind, and one had a recall on the urea tank.
Well there's not many 335d's to begin with lol. ZC have a look around on e90post in the diesel forum and you can get a feel of all the potential CBU issues it can/will suffer from. Only way to try and cut down the CBU was blocking the DPF or some shit. Don't remember anymore since I haven't kept up for obvious reasons. Looks like JR performance can do ECU tunes now and can rip out the DPF along with the stupid UREA...that should remedy the CBU issues.

I still miss mine. The torque was wonderful.

thanks i will have a look, i am thinking though a 5 series is the way to go, non turbo, RWD for simplicity, 6spd manual, and a wagon

What did you get on the highway for mileage?
Best I got was 6.5 or 6.8L/100kms and that was doing 120 most of the time.

When my daughter was in the Britax Marathon (pretty bulky car seat IMO compared to other models I've seen); w/ rear-facing, in the last gen X3 -- we had to move the front seat up to a point where it's only usable for anyone no more than 5'2" (wifey is 5' even  ) and the seat back was almost up-right (barely comfortable) -- front seat passenger is expected to bang their knee when getting out of the vehicle.
Car seat in forward facing mode was a bit better (can recline a bit more and move the seat back a bit more) - but the kid can still kick the front seat back (though she was good and not very kicky); thank god the seat backs are hard plastic and can, so it's easier to wipe and doesn't stain.
I'd imagine an e90/1 to be either equal or worse than that.
The e60 has a lot more leg room. We've put the same car seat (in forward facing mode only) and the front passenger seat can be moved back a bit more. Soon, we'll find out what it's like to put the seat in rear facing mode again since my son should be able to get into that soon (I hate carrying that tub in/out of the car!!!).
Not sure if the 335d has the same problems, but my 535i seems to only throw a CEL on in cold weather (bought mine last year in October @ 117k; threw a CEL in Nov.; complains of misfire and changed plugs; threw a CEL again in Mar.; changed all 6 injectors, replaced fuel sending unit [housing was cracked / had a small gas puddle on the driveway and smell of gas] and plugs again; but all covered under CPO)
So now pretty much everything is new minus the turbos (previous owner had HPFP replaced under warranty as well) - lol. This should last me a few more years. :P Though was told that the high-pressure injectors are pretty much only good for 80k and don't last as long as the injectors that are used on the NA motors.
Now CEL is on a 3rd time just last week @134k; haven't brought it in yet, but it's still running strong.
Maybe a NA motor w/ the 530 is more reliable?
If you do find a 5-series; find one with a rear heated seat. Wifey will thank you when she's sitting w/ the kid in the back.

I think the NA motors are more reliable, and i would probably avoid the 535s, i don't really wanna deal with the high pressure fuel problems

Speaking of boxy SUV's I'd rock the living shit out of a first gen SRT8 GC, I still reminisce when I got pumped by one the DVP...in the M3 +juan. guy in my area (lol typical dudebride car) black and slammed with an exhaust. hngggggg Ya they are really nice, I wanted to make mine look like an srt8 but parts are expensive And a real srt8 sucks back the fuel
they are friggin quick too. i had to help a friend move something to markham, he has a chevy trailblazer SS. quick truck too. must have had a magnet for SRT-8's because first we raced one down duffrin, then one going east on 407, then one going west on 407. SRT-8 pulled on him by about 2 cars on the hwy.

As for the story. Well I have been looking for something since I sold the stang, and I was set on an euro 3.2l e36 m3. So a nice clean stock low km accident free one came up for auction in Japan. I sent a deposit so the guy could bid on it for me. I lost it by like $300. Doh !
so I started checking the jdm auctions daily, I missed an alfa SZ, brabus tuned wagon, the black m3, a red on black 92 lhd NSX, a caterham, another m3 in blue, didn't have the budget for an Alpina b3 twin turbo, And then the dude lets me know he has an RS2 he would sell. So he put together pics, and after a little negotiation ( he always starts high) we agreed on price
Should be paid for tommorow and arrive in a month or so. Pretty damn excited. He said it blows the doors off a Delta.

Yup he was asking 52k, it sold, had low K on it, like 32,000km i think. But it was restored.
I;ve never seen another for sale, so not sure how many are in Cananda. They are really rare to come up for auction in Japan. This was the only one this year. Most are in Europe
Oh no Diablo Prices are up so much, a car that was like 90k last year is 150k this year
I still want a V12 Ferrari of some sort, so thats on the list haha So is an Alfa SZ, a first gen M5, Viper ACR, lots of car lefts haha

haha na, it;s for the wife, i did think about just a regular 5 series, nix the wagon.
I did find a nice blue 07 530XI manual in the US with 80k miles, but i dunno if i wanna deal with importing one

no i don't, but i do keep a small case of wet naps i got from crappy tire specificly for diesel/gas, they work really well.
Although 2-3 times i've had my shoes stink of diesel, thats much worse. Takes a good week before you can wear them again

But I bet you will be bitching the car takes premium gas and only get 300km a tank (Beating on it) vs. 900 km in your TDI  You will somehow find a JDM spec Honda diesel motor and swap it into a ITR 
ITR would only be coming out in nice weather and no shits would be given about the fuel that has to go in it

Were you comfortable in it?
My only issue with integras is they are really cramped inside. I am not a big guy, but I feel super cramped in them. The EG/EK hatches were significantly more roomy/comfortable.

'teg interior is/was light years ahead than the EG, in general a much better setup, but for whatever reason I felt cramped inside, maybe it was that thick center console. Maybe the EG seats slid further back, maybe I am just fat? Probably the latter, regardless...

i was fine, and i had one when i was 300lbs lol
in my EG i had the best seating position of any car i've ever had. A Sparco EVO2 mount low and far back, along with a dished Sparco wheel and a steering wheel spacer. It was perfect!
Legs stretched right out, but steering wheel nice and close.

Agreed!!! Eg had great ergo inside, I had a custom mounted sparco rev which sat nice and low I felt really good in that. Now that I think about I maybe it was the roofline in the teg that was lower?!?!
Teg seats were awesome but like mentioned they were made for little ppl, same as the e36 m3 seats, some of the worst seats ever if you are over 5'4

I am not Vas, I can afford the insurance and gas on the S. I was referring to how thirsty the V10 will be. Nothing to do with premium gas.
Hell, I run premium gas on my beater now. That's right, my beater. How many km do you put on your *summer* car? 5k/year? 5k in fuel difference between s2k and m5 as per your mpg figs is less than $300/year. ...nikka you gonna tell ME about affordability? When I said m5 I ment the e39. Now way I am daily driving that v10 lol
But I don't need it a 530 would be a fine car for going back and forth to work in comfort and a little fun by getting a manual

so is the time! 30 days by rail from BC to toronto. Screw that. i dont want my car sitting on a train for 30 days. Then on a flat bed tow truck to my door from the same guys who hook up crashed cars for a living.
And it's acutally now about $1300 by rail and truck to my door.
An extra $550 it gets an enclosed truck ride with guys who move ferraris lambos, and bentleys for a living. Right to my door

Not a manual, but i talked to the guy, US car he bought baisically new. All maintanence up to date, including water pump and the rest of the cooling system. no accidents. Front bumper repainted due to stone chips, rear bumper due to parking in Montreal.
He sounds like the kind of owenr you want to buy a BMW from. hmmmm wait for a manual or not

i like my CRD, the wagon is for my wife. If i find somthing i like mroe than my CRD she will take it
The Jeep is hard to beat as a daily, good space, good fuel mileage, been relaible, just stupid small things have needed replaced, and ic an tow 7000lbs!
I've been tempted to sell it a couple times but i cant find anything better. I think i have owned it longer than any other car
and yes for now haha

Need to give it a once over, a good polish, some small touches here and there to make it perfect, drive it a bit, then sell it and get somthing else. It's the only way to keep the parade of awesome cars going!! But this one is going to be hard to sell, it's friggen awesome.

i will be after dealing with the DMV. It's a nightmare.
Then i need to register it with drive clean, and trailer it around for a cert and etest.
And then deal with the DMV again

haha i dunno, still too salty and wet to take either car out.
Everyone wanted to see the Lancia before i sold it but a meet never happened. I will probably go out to the cars and coffee at Enginered Automotive in Vaughan for the first one. I wanted to go last year and kept forgetting. They have some nice cars at that place.

Limits for grey market vehicles are set to 1980 standards. 600 ppm HC and 5% CO
it's about 10x higher than the normal limit
ZC if you have any q's about the drive clean stuff lemme know. It's pretty straightforward, just a pain in the ass to jump through the hoops.
