Nah, it was buried under piles of junk while I was doing renos in the house. I'll try it on the weekend, but I think it's going to need some taking apart.

It shouldn't... As long as you drained the gas and ran it dry before storing it. That's all I do with mine. Fill up with fresh gas the next season and that's about it.

Either I'm not used to winter yet, or the brand new Michelin Xi3's aren't that awesome.

I had more traction than most dudes out there, but from a start, I was spinning a bit. Once going, straight line was rocking it baby...

Fucking weather was terrible, day was worse... Attended a close uncle's funeral ... My aunt... She was calling out his name... and holding his hand in the casket

Another uncle had to be rushed to the ER during the sermon \:\(

Sorry to hear dude.

Re. your tires, like any tires, winter tires should be 'broken in' before you use them in full snowy road conditions. they still have that lubricant compound on the outer skin that you should drive on paved roads for awhile to get it sorted, you prob just didn't have enough time/mileage on them before this snow hit. they'll improve as you get a bit more mileage on them.

we have mostly michelin winters on our work cars (i'm using 1 season old ones on this 15 accord) and they're very good. i still prefer the blizzaks though...most of our new winters will be blizzak WS80's. i'd still love to try hakka's or gislaveds though.

gonna take the R out for shits n giggles to test out the 'all weathers' hankooks in the snow too.

It was slick in areas....even with winters. They are much better but it'd not like they are perfect.

Drained it... yeah, I should have done that 2 years ago \:\)

It didn't seem to want to start yesterday so I took the cover off, cleaned the plug and it got going, albeit quite roughly. I drained out the old gas and will run some fresh stuff through this week. The belt looked a little worse for wear too so that might need to get swapped.

Add some Seafoam to the gas and give it a run through, you might have some dirty jets in the carb.

Not a bad idea.

I'm guessing premium gas is better than regular too?

I run plain old regular in mine to be honest. But because I drain it, I don't think it matters too much.

Gasoline with ethanol is supposed to run hotter, not the greatest in a small engine. I know it's hard on any rubber seals too, if you have an older unit.

I won't be able to use ethanol fuel for my British roadster until I want to be rebuilding carbs all the time.

For my snowblower, I use Shell Gold - no ethanol.
