Any recommendations on a head? I don't like the trigger head I have because of how jerky it is to move the camera. Sometimes it's easier to pick up the tripod and rotate the entire thing than to precisely get the head pointing the right direction. I do like the quick release plate though.

This is the newer version of what I bought in 1999. This is still my only head. Buy once, buy right. All I have to do with this is clean it a few times a year.
It's been stable with my full-size bodies and any lens I've put on it, which is up to 70-200

I've got 2 Induro ballheads, love them both. I have the BHD0 and BHD2 or 3 or something... Both are stable with my 5d3 or gripped 7d and Canon 70-200L IS II 2.8 and 100-400L lenses.
I use the BDH0 on my monopod and while hiking. I use the bigger one permanently mounted on my big legs.
