The longest intervals I did on the trainer were 2:30-3 minutes.
Out on the path I don't really time them. There's a 4 mile segment where I go balls out for 12-13 minutes depending on wind. Otherwise I just try to move fairly quickly on a 20-25 mile loop.
Same path done as a TT is complete balls out for 8.7 out, rest, 8.7 back. That's rough. Best is ~52 minutes that way.

20 mph average on a standard road bike is no small feat outside of the nato realm. On a warm, windless day on that aforementioned 17.5 mile flat path, I can get close to it (19.7 last summer iirc). I think I'll hit it this summer, but it's a big effort.

Did my first road race in 2 years today... Turkey Hill Country Classic which is put on by the drink company, Turkey Hill, obviously. Its a local race and has a nasty 1 mile downhill finish with a tailwind usually. Last year there was 3 really bad crashes in the field sprint in 3 different classes, so i was on my guard for the finish. The race was 42 miles or 7 laps around a 6 mile course. The last lap the route diverts and we go up whats called "gamber wall" which is a .1 mile, 20% grade kicker. I hung towards the front as much as i could in a effort to avoid the yo-yo'ing of the back of the 100 man field. I knew some of the stronger guys in the field so I payed attention to where they were. The race was pretty uneventful for the most part..a few small breaks that didnt stick, i bridged to a break of 5 guys and say 201bpm on my hr monitor which damn near blew me up. The last lap is when the fire works erupted. We come back down the hill from gamber wall and had about 3 miles to the finish. making a left turn back onto the original course, 2 dudes about 5 guys in front of me go down..i locked up and swerved around and made it out ok... so we go down this fast downhill and make a right back onto the home straight of about 2 miles, that has a series of 3 rollers before the downhill section. I started slowly making my way towards the front in a attempt to escape the carnage. so we crest the third roller and its all downhill to the finish with a tailwind in a 40+man group. I working to find a gap and have a opening to sprint from. we cross the 1K to go sign and the course makes a little S before straight to the finish. this is where all hell broke loose. im about 10-15th and we start sprinting. i hear a boom and shit going awry to my left, then i see a scott pro mtb guy go down 2 riders in front of me. i swerve to my right, anticipating that the guy in front of me also goes right. he goes left. i run off the road at almost 40mph, bring it back on, take a glance behind me, and literally, i mean literally the entire field is either stopped or on the ground so i cruised the last 100 yards to a 7th place finish and won 30 bucks holla! so fucking close to getting taken out. 42.4 miles in 1hr 47min. I covered the final .4 miles in 36 seconds at 38.5mph at 800+ watts http://www.strava.com/activities/137022557

I've been hitting close to 100 miles a week for a bit now. IIRC, I'm only at ~775 miles YTD at the moment. I'd like May to be another 400+ mile month.
Had a strong 27 miles today. Finished with 13 miles of flat with a decent tailwind.

Did a 61 mile berfday ride today. Averaged 16.2 mph, which I'm pretty content with.
I don't even feel beaten-up from it. /notbadobama
