yea wow lol. my YTD is 350m and that's a lot for me heh. I'm also slow as fuck tho so there's that apologies for entering the thread where people actually race /back to commuting racing is racing - enjoying being on the bike is all that matters
Seriously--I barely belong here, as I only race a little LBS time trial. Everything else is miles for the sake of miles.
nato and shamrok are on another (near-pro) level. They're great resources and have cool exploits tho.

Well, you've certainly become a badass doe.
I'm pretty pleased that I can now put in an hour and 1/2 of hard intervals without wanting to die. I'm really curious to see how this will translate in the warmer months.
Add to the conditioning the new 50mm wheels and I'm gonna tape my helmet vents and I'm hoping to bust through the 45 minute barrier of my TT this summer. If I get down to 42 minutes, then I'll finally be nearing the faster riders.
So glad I stepped it up on the trainer this winter!

Oh yeah--in addition, I'm already at my near summer weight (186). If I could shimmy down to 180, that would help me a ton in the climbs. That's a war tho...

I got out for as measly 21 miles yesterday. Windy, hilly, puddle-drenched, sand/salt-covered and wrecked roads. Dogshit slow, but I guess it was better than the trainer.
My bike sounded like a pepper mill by the time I got home. It was coated in crud.
Ready for spring...

17.3 mph avg over 114 miles on a cross bike on knobbies is fucking monstrous tho. I couldn't do that on a Venge on perfect, flat tarmac on a windless day. That's next-level shit right there.
That said, a friend of mine (with whom I TT) has been doing some big rides lately, so once things warm up, I'll be doing some 80-100 mile rides with him, hopefully. He just bought a new Ridley and double-flatted on a pothole yesterday.

hey, 21 miles is better than sitting on the couch and no miles! false! sitting on the couch is 100x better than riding in below freezing weather. I got a solid 4.5 hours on the trainer this week. After reading about you guys going and doing more than 4.5 hours in one day in this kind of weather I feel like I shouldn't even bother
oh don't worry about that - I was just trying to improve my fitness over the winter instead of just let it stagnate - my hours will probably get a little lower for the next month or two

97 minutes on the trainer today. Spun through 2 /DRIVE "my life as a rallyist" vids (:29 and :23) and then did a 45 min intervals vid. Took a couple of quick pee breaks after each vid ended, but felt great overall and finished very hard on the intervals. Crushed the final sprint.

Saturday brought me my first 2-hour trainer session. 30 minutes spin and then 1:30 of intervals "hills". I actually felt good during the whole workout. So much more stamina than last year.
I have around 120 road miles in for the year (lol) and around 17 hours in on the trainer. Road mileage will ramp up once the weather warms and my "regular" bike path thaws.
Ran 3.5 miles yesterday and my Achilles didn't bug me for the first time in awhile, so that's nice.
Main bike needs new cables and I ordered some 700x25 Conti Supersports for my beater wheels in preparation for some nasty roads.

Just wondering... weird thought. What is the difference or equivalent to running miles and biking miles?
Tough to say. Plus--an hour of running will really beat me up. An hour on the bike: routine and easy. For me, 17-18mph average on flat ground on the bike, 6mph average running (but I'm a slow-ass runner).

I love how the commute is now a TT for you! Nice work.
Fighting a cold, so I was weak on the trainer yesterday. Tomorrow is supposed to be a balmy 46 so I'll get out for 20 or so. Roads are shit and the paths are still under a few inches of snow (paths don't get plowed).
Just got some 700x25 Conti Supersports for the beater wheels. They're stout--~390g each--with a folding bead. I just want fewer puncture headaches.
