My wife and I drive over that bridge almost daily and its a cluster-fuck during normal days. I can only imagine how bad traffic is going to be now. They are reporting that it may be closed for several days or longer until they can assess the damage and make repairs.

You can barely see it in the pics, but all the wood is from a huge scaffold thats covering the bridge trusses. During the day, the scaffold is full of iron workers doing maintenance. Im sure some of those dudes shit a chicken when the truck hit and I real surprised none of them got hurt.

From what I've read people were trying to tell him. Cars were honking and trying to get his attention...he just sped up and ignored them.

kind of sounds like the truck driver that let his truck roll back at a stop light and dent my work truck. I was on the horn the whole time and he just drove off like nothing happened. Time to hand in your license.

Ive noticed some of those traffic cams are deceiving. I used to check 401 before heading out somewhere and it looked ok from the traffic cams...but you know it wasnt and sure enough you get on the thing and its a parking lot. wtf kind of sorcery is this

My buddy who works for the Coast Guard said it took him 2hrs to drive in from St.Catharines this morning.. and he doesn't even have to cross over the skyway, lol.

I'm going to my parents trailer tomorrow which is off of HWY 8 area on the other side of the 403. Hopefully traffic isn't too fucked, gonna take as many side roads as possible. Looked on google maps this morning, 1hr13m to get there using the Red Hill and 2.5hrs just to get to the other side of the skyway lol.

Everything is fucked down there, both southbound and northbound lanes are jammed, I wouldn't go anywhere near Niagara this weekend.

A contractor I work with in Hamilton couldn't even get out of the city this morning

lol had this same convo at work last year with guys from work. essentially wondering why there is no ferry service from a toronto port (and maybe even other cities) to buffalo/niagara/etc. just like what the UK and France have in the channel.



as usual prob too much gov. red tape, enviro concerns and lack of $$$ and brains.

of course harsh winter/ice issues prob no service lol.
