Why is your shirt off?

Hex deads are fun. I should do them more often.

It was a joke, one of the other lifters at the gym was working shirtless, and his coach said "real men lift without shirts."

http://instagram.com/p/nd3iQiN3pV/

So I came to the gym with two shirts on. It was also 90 degrees in the gym. I lost one shirt at a time.

But mainly I said "BETA HARDER THAN ME" and tagged him in the vid of me doing the clothed deadlifts.

It's good to keep your core out of it, focus more on legs, more like a manual leg press. Especially at a deficit.

And Lewis, it won't happen again, trust me lol.

I'm not pushing it that had. This is 445# and I'm pretty happy with that. Don't worry your pretty little head, I'll be 500 before the end of the year.

I'm glad to say it took me a week to edit this footage because the training session sucked. But last nights pressing session totally made up for it.

I made a recent post on my blog talking about slowly taking up a caloric surplus. I guess when not logging in your food for a few days then sitting down to do it really puts things in perspective how fast you can let things get out of hand.

I've been having issues with recovery from workouts in general and have realized the programming I'm following really doesn't mesh too well with cutting calories. Which isn't a big deal. I have 4 weeks left in my program right now, and I'm just going to slowly add in calories back into my diet and also do maintenance cardio so I don't fucking bloat out of anywhere.

After that 4 weeks is up I most likely will be consulting a powerbuilder coach to determine what the best approach for my goals of building strength while recomping are.

Cory's helped me out for the past 35 weeks with this and I've made great progress with my recomposition, and I don't want to throw the work he's done away granted if I was a lot stricter I could've made more progress in that regard.

I'm not unhappy with where I am now at all.

Good luck, man. You have definitely progressed.

This long term stuff is why I hate slowly cutting calories. It takes so much focus and mental dedication that it's easy to get tired of it after a while and slip up. I'd rather just do something severe and focused and get back to eating normally as soon as possible.

If you want to look like an underwear model, by all means go for it Art, the internet cannot deny you're the man, in your own mind.

As long as I am able to build lean mass, while maintaining recomp, and then diet back down again. It's no different than adding clay to a nice vase and continuing to shape it as I please.

In short, it's a good thing I do what I want for me, and not you.

Right now I am on a percentage accumulation type of program, which based off of an amrap on the third week will change lifting maxes for the following lifts. All accessory work I am doing is autoregulated and handled with rpe.

Which is actually a bit more challenging than I thought, no different really than trying to show up and lift shit with a semi set goal, but still based off of how you're feeling.

I feel a lot stronger on bench, squats feel iffy but deadlifts also feel like they're staring to see some movement, so hopefully I'll be able to break 500 there pretty soon, shooting for at least 420-430 on squats and hopefully 250 on bench.

Makes perfect sense to me. Probably because I've done a program like that.
