I am currently following the Cube Method it's a 6 week cycle basically of 3 major lifts. And one "body builder" day.
Here is my spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqGW_VbJoxQqdE44a1h6Rld5S2FDbDI3TW53aEtOX1E&usp=sharing
I'm trying to structure my training days a little better and nail down a solid schedule. Mind you for cardio is managed by Diezel and I do it as my warm up.
I also have a really fucked up sleep schedule currently. I try to get in bed by 10-11pm.
I wake up at 4:30, hit the gym by 5:00-30 depending on how I prepped the night before.
I'll do my cardio, then lift for the time I have remaining depending on if I will get breakfast or brought it after. Normally my main lifts don't take long at all, and I'll just do basic accessory stuff. I go to the gym after work just to kill time since traffic is a 2 hour endeavor anytime before 8pm I get off at 5. So I normally don't rush through training sessions, spend plenty of time stretching
Deadlifts: Leg Press Hamstring Curls Calf Raises Hack Squat Lunges
or
Behind the neck Pull Downs Pendlays 3x10 with 30 second rest. Kroc Rows 8-10x3-5 depending on time Shoulder Flys Shrugs
or
Bicep Curl workout 10-12x5 Wide Grip Cable Curls Supinated Alt Curls Hammer Curls Close Grip Preacher Curls all done with fat grips.
Squats: Leg Press 5x15 never really heavy just to stretch out the hamstrings and get blood in them. or Front squats (just doubles or triples, light as well) hack squat lunges calves seated leg extensions lying leg curls
Bench: Incline Bench or smith or dumb bells Decline Bench or smith or dumb bells dips either 5x5 or 5x8 never weighted DB flys or incline flies rarely decline flies. Pec Dec or Cable Flies, sometimes both with something else in between. Pull overs.
or Tricep Work, the bread and butter shit. Lots of things John Meadows recommends I like to try out. His Tricep Finisher and rear shoulder fly drop sets are life enders, especially that push up workout on a smith rack.
http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmSEdfW3LpEKyLiCDWBDdVQ
On Bodybuilder day I normally will do abs standing cable pull downs hanging leg to bar raises crunches on one of those bouncy balls and side crunches with a leg raise I also started to do a seated twist with an empty curl bar on my back recommended by Daniel Kory, but I just feel stupid doing it.
Or I will do a Push day that focuses on shoulders, barbell press, arnold press, alternating press, flies, pull ups, front raises. Shit like that.
I mix in other little things here and there but I really have no structure. I just do what I feel like I have the energy for after the main lifts and the cardio.
I never really do any of the main lifts on certain days either, again it's really what I'm in the mood for and what my body says. Today I felt like squatting, didn't follow programming since I didn't have time, just did some warm ups 10x135 and then 5x225 and built up to 5x290 by the 5th set. Had time for some calf raises and then I'll spend my lunch break hitting the rest of my accessory work at the gym on site.
I'll probably go back in after work and knock abs out since I should be doing that more.
4 days out of 7 I am doing a ton of volume. The other 3 I just dick around so I'm doing something, always have tons of energy.
If anyone has any recommendations for a split or how you'd utilize your time I'd love to hear it.
As far as main lifts go, I believe 2 weeks from now I am to have a mock meet and try to set new pr's on my 3 main lifts which will program new training maxes to train off of.
I can tell you for sure my strength especially core strength has greatly improved doing the cube method, and it is not WIPING ME OUT like 5/3/1 is, that shit has a mofo wishing for a deload week.
Almost hit 225 unassisted on incline last week but the bench has no safety net, so I didn't want to push it. I hit 215 for a paused triple but it damn near was a paused 2 and a half LOL.
If you want to start a shitfest go somewhere else. If you want to give input on a steady push/pull so I can consistently train at least 6 days a week I'm all ears.

How did Diezel's guidance work out? Making gainz?
The conservative macro's he had me on kept me at a constant fluctuating 189-192 so I gave him the go ahead to get more aggressive. Visually there were changes, but one off day not even by a huge margin kept bringing me back into 192.
Thanksgiving didn't help, but that was on me. Most of that is off now, and I expect to be in the 180's by the weekends end.

Today was a heavy day on deadlifts. finally. my back felt good, got my 400 cals in on the stair master, did some light stretching and some warm up sets with the bar and 135, did doubles from there on up 135, 225, 285, 315.
todays training was 385x1, 400x1, and 410x1
I ended up doing 385x1, 405x1, 425x1 all of them felt like the same weight so I jumped from 425 to 455
http://instagram.com/p/iG4DkFCziC/
it says to go up and try a max if you feel good but don't miss. I tried for 465 and got it up to my knee's no problem but I didn't want to push it since I already hit 455 which is a 4lb pr and I didn't sprain my back in the process this time lol.
did some accessory work with the time I had left before work and lunch time I will hit back and shoulders.
Not a bad day so far after having a flash flu on Monday. Excited in 2 weeks as I finally get to have a little mini meet and see where I made gains on this program.
hoping for 470 on dead, 365 on squat and 240 on bench.

Bro, your bench is weak as fuck. work on that. Yah, that number seems really off. Just as a comparison, here's my latest numbers: Squat: 405 Deadlift: 435 Bench: 335 You should really be closer to a 275 bench man. You're tall but, that's really low squat/dead to bench. Unless all these are either rep ranges, or absolute perfect strict form.
I mean you should be pulling 5#s at least.

My Back has eaten itself in the last 6 years. I'm 34.
137, you can bench so much more than that so quickly.

I wouldn't go that far, I normally never have a spot with me and nowhere safe to bench. So I just don't do that much bench. I've trying to do a lot more with my new supplemental work, but don't think I'm disappointed with my bench numbers at all.
I'm still on a slow deficit so any pr to me at this point is a good pr. I'm not going to be throwing up any huge jumps as long as I'm cutting.

So like....10% in the next 5 years or is this a 10 year plan?
Slow and steady Art, as long as things keep moving in this direction I imagine I'll be in the low 180's in the next 8 weeks and maintaining pretty much all of the mass I have. Which is the goal, in no rush to get to the number. You already know that.

I've never seen someone as paranoid about losing gains as you, Wayne.
I don't know anyone on a powelifting workout plan trying to cut weight and make gains either.

Did you ditch Diezel's plan? The food you've been posting....does it "fit" in with what you're goin for?
Still working with Cory, the burger definitely is at the threshold of things. everything else fits. macros suck right now, will get suckier once I make it to the 180's I imagine. posting blarg update in a sec
okay took longer than a second

I meant in general. It seems for the past few years, you've been so worried about losing an ounce of muscle that it's gotten in the way of you losing weight.

I guess you could look at it like video games. I don't want a new set of gear if it's going to lower my stats. I'm not going to the gym to bust my ass to be weaker.
Everyone has a different goal in the gym, some people use it as a supplement, some people like to maintain or speed along their weight loss by high reps low weight or whatever the fuck.
I like to go in and fuck shit up...
When I did the paleo challenge in 2012 and dropped 30lbs in 2 months, a LOT of that was mass, and every bit of progress I made on my lifts went kaput.
Now if you look at it from the perspective "well you can just cut, have a six pack, and diet your way back up in weight."
Maybe if I had your metabolism, eating schedule, etc, etc.
It's clear I was destined to be a fat fuck, I get fat breathing air. At 1700cals daily after 2000-2200 calories of cardio I'm still slowly re-comping. What makes ANYONE think I could just "bulk" and not get insta-tits in 3 weeks... when they obviously see I'm barely eating the same amt of food anyone who posts in here is, that I wouldn't just get fat again super fast.
Art can cry about me giving advice and not having a six pack, and gamby giving input and not having a six pack. pretty much anyone that doesn't have a six pack giving advice is a fucking idiot.
I don't care who can or cant have a valid input on lifting and training and nutrition based on looks. I am not interested in bro-ing down to show conditioning for any reason what so ever, not interested in mood swings, or experiencing impotence or loss of sex drive because I want to be peeled.
I'm also not ranting at you, but I just don't see why if I'm reporting progress, it's not good enough or not fast enough for everyone else?
That's what this forum is for, that's why I'm posting.
that is all.

maintaining gainz?

That is what annoys me the most. You'd love to actually be big and ripped but you won't be because you make fucking excuses about every single thing.
Okay dude, thanks for your insight.. Good thing I know I'll never measure up to how great you were in high school.

Other than that, which isn't something you can overcome, you have no reason you can't. You're far more into lifting and "fitness" than I am. I'm simple, I mind my diet and tweek where appropriate and lift and run. I don't have videos, blogs, coaches, etc.
The only thing stopping you is yourself.

mood swings, or experiencing impotence or loss of sex drive because I want to be peeled. Results of low bf%? Wat?
Your hormones can get out of whack a little bit when you go super low on cals. It's not THAT big of a deal, though. It's not like you go impotent.

The strongest I've ever been has also been the lightest I've been as an adult. Now I was still carrying a bunch of weight compared to "yous" guys but I don't think weight loss and maintaining strength are mutually exclusive. Especially at the strength levels we are talking about here.
Art and Silock and Diezel are absolutely great knowledgeable members on this topic. To argue with them for the sake of doing so, which is whats happening is frustrating to watch.
Either way, keep working hard 137!

Another piece of helpful advice(stop wasting your money on shit that wont help, thats just re marketed colostrum, pushed by people like mark lobliner) and you resort to personal attacks. Cant say I am surprised.
You giving helpful fitness advice is like balbi or fastfed giving helpful fitness advice.

How has your gainz / body comp come along so far while following Diezel's plan?
I haven't seen pics or really kept up. The FF has been slow in general.
I can't look for myself. Wouldn't look right scanning pics of men in undies while at the office

Weather I'm taken seriously or not is hardly a concern here. I offer advice on things, take it with a grain of salt. not all of us can run for a bit slam beer and lift heavy, be over 6 foot and lean you goof I do not have physique or strength I have by chance, genetics, or anything else. I have what I have because of what I do and what I do best is consistently train my body and contain my diet.
The very first pictures I posted in the OG fitness thread were me, at IDK, 20 years old, 241 pounds and really strong but still "pretty lean" for that weight.
the pictures everyone remembers are the pictures of me at 207 pounds with a hat some black kid left at the house I used to rent.
I'm 219 pounds today, as I've been "cutting" for a few weeks. I'll go to 215 then up it and this summer I'll be a really lean, really jacked, 218-220 pounds.
It works

Good stuff dude.
I really can't believe how weak your bench is though.
It's going to take a few years before it's even respectable unfortunately. As long as I can continue building it injury free, I'll be happy.

Yeah I bought one, I do overloads with it on the weekends and it's actually part of my lifting program. There just isn't any point putting it on for anything under 200lbs that doesn't require like 12 reps.
I did 245 for 3 this weekend with it. I definitely feel it since it really helps you get if off of your chest and to that sticking point and from there it's all you.

Your back get sore with that many sets?
Not at all, it's the reps day that normally fills my erectors with blood. Normally people who get really sore backs from deadlifts don't use their hips or glutes at all. Just let their ass fly up, lock out their knee's and then pull it with their back and biceps. Road to injury

I mean, I don't even want to hate here as you're doing good things for yourself and you have enthusiasm, but what is this shit? Neither your workout nor your physique is "of note,"
Hey, I'll give that a you tube response....
http://youtu.be/WsZXXNdQP80
so.......video blog every single fucking set you do? What's the motivation? "Look how many dead sets this light skinned low rent lookin' Rick Ross motherfucker is doing today! Goddamn he mad at them weights son!"
Sorry I don't post about how my wife has me in the doghouse or how many other meaningless things are posted like when to take in protein and shit like that. If there is one thing I like to do and am particularly good at it's lifting weights.
I film myself lifting weights for the following.
1. I don't have anyone watching my movements to see what adjustments need to be made if any.
2. To keep a record of my progress. Why do you take pictures of your kids? Why do you take pictures of loved ones, why do you use camera's and media devices?
You seem like average Joe taking this shit a little too seriously, throwing out 'erector muscles' and can't find 1st gear with your diet over a millennia.
That's quite funny. Can you post a picture of your supermodel body again and your lifts for comparison. I am an average joe, I take what I do in the gym very seriously, and throwing out erector muscles is exactly that. Someone asked a question, I answered it. Whats the problem with that?
That gut is fucking ponderous at this level of attention seeking behavior.
That same gut consumed everything you see here before the weight lifting session.
lol yeah, go look up what an inzer belt does to someones torso and get back to me.
Fuck. I'm going back to OT.
Good, you should stay there. You really have no business in here anyway.

He does this. He wants to be taken seriously as a "weight lifter" while being fat and having weak lifts.
My bench is shit, my deadlift and squat are formidable and will continue to go up while you will continue to say what you lift and given your weight and size, are pretty fucking weak lifts themselves. You can keep harping at me because of my weight, at this particular point one of the two will change.
The lifts will go up, I will continue to get bigger, and eventually your ridicule will become respect. And you can deny it all you want, but you can continue to stay where you're at, pretend there is something elite about yourself and the corner of the internet you continue to bully and give nothing back to.
When I'm out lifting you, and I will. I'll have the final laugh, and the worst you'll be able to do is say I don't have abs. And trust me, my feelings will remain crushed. While you remain bitter and ignorant.

Listen Junior, I've said before that I think what you're doing is great. You stick to the major lifts and do them well, I applaud that. The thing is, you have an awful lot of time and footage and charts dedicated to this yet your results are really lacking. A 400# deadlift isn't really impressive bro dog.
I'd be impressed if you lifted like you do now and shed all that fat for once. Let's not pretend you don't want to look jacked too.

If he ever sacked up and "bro'd up" his diet he'd be jacked as fuck. Different strokes I guess....it sure as hell seems to be working out better than #carbnite. That was taken Sunday, most of my food is solids and not made up by protein powders. That's 44p/25c/4f in each container. tilapia, baby gold potatoes, and french green beans. I will be the first to admit that saturday and sunday I normally am not as strict and it's been a setback, so I've forced myself into spending sunday afternoon meal prepping for the week so shit is brainless and I can consistently eat what I've prepared without getting bored of it. 10-15g of fiber for every 1000 calories as well to make sure I hit that goal daily, while not required. I think that was the most challenging aspect to hit fiber while being "flexible" So I expect some desirable body comp results for the next 6 weeks as long as I stay the course.
Keep that up with minimal slipups and the results will come. Yes, it's boring and monotonous....but fuck it. 90 days of that will yield great results.
Btw, how did you cook the tilapia? Just bake? It stinks up my apartment so I kinda gave up on fish for meal prepping.

here is the recipe, substitute anything you want really. My girlfriend just uses a lean turkey for me so it's low in fat.

Just bought some butternut squash. I think I'm gonna go off the reservation and do my regular chili ingredients with squash and ground turkey (and beans).
Thanks for the idea.

how many gyms do you belong to?
my girlfriend pays 20 bucks for my la fitness membership, and I pay 55 a month for barbell brigade. as opposed to the 200 a month I paid for crossfit. So I think I can squeeze another membership in there if necessary.

Why do you work out in sweats?
Not sure if you noticed, but it's not a normal globo gym, there is shed door that's up and I might as well be working out outside it was like 60 degree's in there. With any kind of decent rest in between sets I'll get cold. And not in the anemic sense.

It's a little different sleeping at 60 degrees than working out.

Seriously? I'm not hating; I'm honestly shocked. Once I'm warmed up, I stay warmed up for a long ass time, even if I take 5 minutes between sets.

Good stuff
You should really switch to decline for awhile though so you can get your numbers up
I did some decline today, ended up getting 225 for a double without my slanger on. I definitely need to get that in a bit more, especially dumbbell work to help with the wicked strength imbalances.

You are a beast dude.
I've been working in very mild deadlifts in an effort to minimize stress on the joints during my longer runs. After only 3 weeks I am really noticing a difference. Great move for core.

It was a joke, one of the other lifters at the gym was working shirtless, and his coach said "real men lift without shirts."
http://instagram.com/p/nd3iQiN3pV/
So I came to the gym with two shirts on. It was also 90 degrees in the gym. I lost one shirt at a time.
But mainly I said "BETA HARDER THAN ME" and tagged him in the vid of me doing the clothed deadlifts.
Hex deads are fun. I should do them more often.
It's good to keep your core out of it, focus more on legs, more like a manual leg press. Especially at a deficit.
And Lewis, it won't happen again, trust me lol.

light bench. http://youtu.be/uA79aCopYvkand I'm not even touching that mismatched hell of plates you have there. I don't know if that's kg, lbs. If it's lbs, I hope you also had a shitload of reps to do. You should be back in the 500's already sexy boy!
I'm not pushing it that had. This is 445# and I'm pretty happy with that. Don't worry your pretty little head, I'll be 500 before the end of the year.

And still never even lean enough to have abs or not have bitch tits
If you want to look like an underwear model, by all means go for it Art, the internet cannot deny you're the man, in your own mind.
As long as I am able to build lean mass, while maintaining recomp, and then diet back down again. It's no different than adding clay to a nice vase and continuing to shape it as I please.
In short, it's a good thing I do what I want for me, and not you.

So, how are your lifts doing?
Right now I am on a percentage accumulation type of program, which based off of an amrap on the third week will change lifting maxes for the following lifts. All accessory work I am doing is autoregulated and handled with rpe.
Which is actually a bit more challenging than I thought, no different really than trying to show up and lift shit with a semi set goal, but still based off of how you're feeling.
I feel a lot stronger on bench, squats feel iffy but deadlifts also feel like they're staring to see some movement, so hopefully I'll be able to break 500 there pretty soon, shooting for at least 420-430 on squats and hopefully 250 on bench.

two pr's today... bench pressed 250lbs
Hmm.. I did 8 reps of 245 last monday and it felt kinda easily. you look a good amount bigger than me.. I would have pegged you for putting up like 315
Squated 335lbs for 10 reps.
Very Impress.

I blame crossfit, 3 years of 0 benching. I can easily put 270lbs over my head from the ground... but laying on my back, whole different story.

ib4 faggot shut the fuck up you have tits omg I dunk basketballs and won the homecomming game....
So a few months back, I think it was May I was around 183, this was as lean as I got before I started to plateau in the gym.
We've seen this multiple times... I've signed up with a coach to handle my nutrition and programming for 15 weeks and it will go beyond that. Really focusing on base building and really getting my strength up through RPE and a whole bunch of fancy terms I don't really know.
You may know, auto-regulation.
So I bench twice a week, Squat twice a week, and deadlift twice a week. The second lift variation is always a paused movement.
I also am doing 0 cardio right now, the focus of nutrition is to raise my BMR, gaintain so maintain a 198-205ish weight so when I go to cut for a meet it's not a drastic 30-40lb cut to get to whatever weightclass.
You'll probably skip all this shit, I'm making it too complicated, I'm fat and should eat 1300 calories, tilapia, brocolli, and kale juice for pumps and vascularity building.
This was taken this morning, I'm averaging around 204lbs, I was sitting at 200 but ever since a beer pong weekend for 4th of july I've been struggling to shake off that beer weight so we cut some carbs until I even out. And most likely will kick it back up once I'm down to 200.
I'm not physically happy about the weight, I know it has it's purpose for the weight I want to move. I have about 7 more weeks on this training cycle and then I test maxes.
I think 415-420lbs or maybe even more on squats about 500 or slightly more on deadlifts and I'm hoping for 265-270lbs on bench.
bench press * deadlifts : http://youtu.be/CFaY2xuesDA overhead press * squats : http://youtu.be/aJOHHEvXRQk
I'm currently walking the walk, putting up a picket fence, eating broccoli, and carrots, feel strong, kale in my blood.

In a caloric surplus, no yolo macros, still following a guideline to keep me at a base weight.
And I lift weights to get stronger, not to look like an underwear model. As long as everything continues to progress forward things will come full circle in the end.

DEXA scans are so $$$$$$$$ though.
The inbody scans are only 25 bucks a pop for a re-test.

I don't think you need to get fat to get stronger. More to the point, I don't think getting fat is worth it our makes a big enough difference.
Also your canned underwear model line stinks. Rethink that position. I don't to be a model either but I certainly don't want to be fat

Also your canned underwear model line stinks Also he takes post pump black and white pictures because he doesn't care what he looks like.
Post pump? the pump I get every morning & 5am after taking a piss? I take them in black and white due to inconsistent lighting in my bathroom.

I just think you overthink this stuff and yoyo around trying to find magic formulas and coaches. It seems crazy to me to do that to bench 250 and squat 400lbs.
I'm sure this sounds negative but it isn't meant to be. I'm on your side hoss. I want you to be awesomesauce and 183 you is almost full rico suave.

I feel a lot of people underthink stuff, and rely on broscience and genetics to get them through their goals. Nobody just ups and does powerlifting, it requires a specific approach and no two individuals are the same.
It seems crazy to me to do that to bench 250 and squat 400lbs. How is that crazy to anyone? I've never had a strong bench, it would be crazy to me if Art could also squat 400lbs to depth with his incredible bench or deadlift more than 450lbs. Same goes for anyone else who says they put up any particular numbers and has no physical proof of such.
I've tried basic base building for bench, stupid accessories, and I've come to the realization through trial and error that the only way to bench more is to BENCH MORE. I currently am benching twice a week now, tons of volume all auto regulated some days it's more, some days it's less but still same reps and sets. Close Grip, all Paused as if I was at a competition.
It's inching it's way up to 300 finally, but I have a long way to go. I also have a slight rotator cuff issue with my left shoulder, it likes to come out of the socket at a particular angle.. and that's the horizontal bench angle. LOL
EXAMPLE
I'm sure this sounds negative but it isn't meant to be. I'm on your side hoss. I want you to be awesomesauce and 183 you is almost full rico suave.
And I hate to sound defensive, everyone is very dismissive like they're walking greek gods, nobody is talking about their downtime, but they sure are talking and posting a lot when it's chisel season.
I've advised my coach that I have no desire to compete at 198, which is why I'm being captive at this weight, so we will begin a taper to move it back down to 181.
That's really all I'm going to post about rico suaveness, road to 10 percent is the name of the blog and it's still a goal, just not what my focus is currently.

Broscientist in the house! I don't lift for competitions or employ a powerlifter type mentality when I lift. I guess we all have different thoughts and goals.
I don't list my max lifts anymore either, it's been too long since I've even attempted a true 1rm in the big 3.

I love when Wayne is so mad at himself he has to lash out and me and others on this forum.
Yeah, I can't possibly squat 405 pounds or dead lift a measly 450. That must be the secret I've been hiding these 10 years since the Fitness thread. Please dude, I was doing that in freshman year of college.
Yes Wayne, the big secret is out, we all only post when it's "chisel season" and not during our "downtime", that's the big conspiracy. It can't possibly be that we actually enjoy working out, and we know proper nutrition and we've been doing it so long. You're right. I'm not ripped right now as I type this.
It's like your last rant, last time you yo-yo'd, omg I'm an Al Bundy talking about the old days I've posted pics for a decade. A solid fucking decade, you're not going to catch me slipping bro. I'm jacked, I workout, I eat right, I know what I'm doing.
You're mad at yourself because you've never in the past 10 years of talk even lost your bitch tits. Now you're a "powerlifter" yet your blog is titled "the road to ten percent".
Bro, this just in, YOU'RE NOT THAT STRONG. Like, at all. You're not a powerlifter.

Do you have a workout partner?
I had never been able to bench very much, but that's because I always worked out by myself. I could do like 10 reps of 135 and struggle like hell to get one rep of 225. I started going to the gym with some guys at work and lifting heavy for about 2 days per week. Now I can do 225 like it was 135.
Having another guy there so I could lift heavy and go to failure everytime = Gains City. I am shocked how much stronger I got in maybe 4 months.

Move weight lolz
Dude is a joke, it's really even too ridiculous to be real.
Only think you have any credit for is being a large human being and having a big bench press, no video proof of anything but your vertical jump and your ability to shlog vodka.

I'm not the one doing the shit, I don't have a blog, a youtube channel, I don't say shut like "amrap", I just work out.
I just did a chest workout, pyramid form to exhaustion and actually hit a personal best of flat bench without a spot of 335. I even pretty much pause repped that shit x1.
I usually wouldn't attempt that without a spot but, I felt like unstoppable today.
The pyramid went like this
135x30
185x20
225x12
275x5
315x2
335x1
and then back down, when I got back to 225 I just did x10 sets with that in conjunction with pushups to failure. 3 mins between sets. Done.
No algebra or magic formula involved, that's how I felt today and it was good.
I could probably find over the course of 10 years that you claim I'm a faggot, that any workout you've ever talked about or had claim to fame of, was bench press.
Oh and you're good at throwing and catching the winning touchdown, putting in fences, and moving logs since your job for the longest time was that of wolverine in hiding.
For a body building style, I like CT Fletchers style of working out. It works for me, I mean, I don't follow him but my personal style is the same way. You should still be progressing set to set, every set counts for something, reps aren't just for the sake of reps. You gotta get your swoll on dog. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsPKfahw-B0
youtube logic, ct fletcher style methods... how about nutrition art?
Going to the Bahamas this summer. Got be complete beast. In this thread I will outline how to go from animal to beast in 12 weeks.
Starting picture...
ending picture
great progress, please tell me more. I mean you're tall and aesthetic, lucky you. But how can I look like that art, what should I eat?
So half a 2.2 pound chicken, my veggie shake and a banana
It's very extremely easy to shred weight with a veggie/fruit/seed/nut shake but, although you'll have a ton of nutrients you'll be protein deficient you must supplement protein or else you'll shed muscle too
Art, we need more details please. Also tell me which nutribullet you have. I'm going to buy one. I have both nutribullets, the standard and the pro. They come with "recipe" books but I just do my own thing. The base of all my blends are greens. Kale/baby spinach/broccoli/spring greens Usually kale though, I feel like kale really gives me a good pump (all mental I'm sure) Then I add fruits/nuts/seeds/berries/etc Right now I just slammed a large container of kale/carrots/flax seed/blueberry and almonds
Art, I lifted heavy tonight and then nutribulleted a kale/spinach/carrot/whey shake. I'm feeling VASCULAR bro. I know that feel But I use no supplements anymore. Not even whey.
no whey jose?!?!?!
3 weeks into your caloric deficit cut, how much weight did you lose Art?
More potato. "Gained" 2 pounds today lol 217
damn man, really?
Well thanks for all your helpful advice, I didn't even have to get OB1 Creepy and post shit from years ago, I found all that gold in 2 threads.

You shut the fuck up, dudes a fucking clown show. Youtube blog sig picture avatar countless threads all over the course of a fucking decade it's annoying as fuck
I'm not the one doing the shit, I don't have a blog, a youtube channel, I don't say shut like "amrap", I just work out.
who cares if he's a "clown"...?
I had given Wayne as much shit as anyone, but the dude is working towards "something"... Sure he loves to yo-yo, but Christ man, you're over the top with your incessant killing on the guy...
I've become "friends" with Wayne over the last year, he has his "issues" just like the rest of us... he's getting stronger, and instead of adding anything useful, it's always "you suck", "you're a joke", "you're weak" or some variation of such...
You think you're "impressive"... you play the big fish in a small pond on CSi well, but in the grand scheme you're "weak" too... Plenty of guys I know that'd blow your ass out of the water in any lift...
Wayne, you fucking clown, step away from the cronut and lift a bar...

Oh and i still can't bench 315, probably not even 135 right now...

This could be the winning strategy. Wayne has way too many delicious food options near him.
Art can keep the food under lock and key and dish out accordingly. This will work!
send me out to the alaskan like wilds of ny during winter to hunt for fish.

Not asking anyone to promote or endorse shit, I'm sharing. you choose to read it. but I've been specifically asked to be nicer to you Go wayne yay donuts! Obesity!
haha yeah it's not a flattering photo at all. I am low carb right now so I will always look flat and round.
Being fat too doesn't help! I think we've found the sweet spot macronutrient wise and if necessary we may introduce some slight liss cardio in the speed the descent back to 180 up. But I'm not trying to lose at a rapid pace for obvious reasons.

Hmm.. Your broscience seems faulty.
Why eat bags of candy? You're probably eating too much carbs and sugar. That slice of pie is "1 slice," but I bet there's 600 calories in that motherfucker. You can eat a whole meal and be full for that single slice.
I know it's good and I'd eat it, but if you're weight isnt going down, there's probably a reason.

http://om1kronswole.blogspot.com/2014/09/week-15-my-final-week-with-strength.html Hmm.. Your broscience seems faulty.
Lots of powerlifters follow carb backloading, I was just doing it to avoid eating carbs throughout the day. I could drink gatoraids instead of eating a bag of candy. It's not like it was snickers they all were the same deal, just simple sugars carbohydrates, sucrose. I could get away with eating a fuckton of pineapples too. They're just more expensive.
Why eat bags of candy? You're probably eating too much carbs and sugar. That slice of pie is "1 slice," but I bet there's 600 calories in that motherfucker. You can eat a whole meal and be full for that single slice.
I eat 60g fat, 150g carbs, and 250g of protein. How am I eating too many carbs?
I know it's good and I'd eat it, but if you're weight isnt going down, there's probably a reason.
I don't do cardio. That's a last resort since it will take away from energy required to perform the session. Art can make all of the jabs he wants, since june I've added 30lbs to my squat, 30-50lbs to my deadlift, and 30lbs to my bench. While maintaining an average bodyweight of 202lbs.
I'm not shredded by any means nor is that the point. But strength is going up and that's really all I care about.

Lots of powerlifters follow carb backloading, Looked up Carb Backloading.. sounds too complicated.. http://www.cutandjacked.com/Guide-Carb-Back-Loading I'd probably end up getting fatter doing that.. lol no discipline
I eat 60g fat, 150g carbs, and 250g of protein. How am I eating too many carbs? Dunno if that's too much carbs, but isnt that like that something like 2600 calories? Might be a bit high for weight loss, no?

I'm not shredded by any means nor is that the point. But strength is going up and that's really all I care about. You could have probably done all that without the spreadsheets and special eating techniques. Probably could make more gains actually.

Regarding the comment about your coach and "finding a middle ground"....
I'm assuming you are shelling out a decent amount of cash for this coaching, correct?
25 a week. not too bad really.
Why not go with what he says? Does his guidance fall in line with what you're currently doing regarding diet?
Yes, it falls in line. meal timing for the most part everyone has agreed really is irrelevant... I eat most of all the proteins and fats during the day, minimal carbs and try to just load the carbs up at my allotted amount nightly so they're available the next day glycogen wise. Logically that makes sense but don't want to get all bro sciency and technical. I eat what I'm supposed to, period.
It is possible diet, lift heavy, lean out, and make strength gains. Also, I'm not talking about going full on kale/chicken, but we all know you still eat shitty foods...often.
Worst I've done as of late was korean bbq last night, I couldn't tell you the last time I had a cupcake or poptart, hell even cereal.
I know you give zero fucks about fat gain, I'm just curious and trying to figure out your logic.
Right now I'm just doing what I'm told and trying to make the most out of it.

I've pretty much been eating the same thing for the last three weeks...
americano in the morning with splenda, dash of half n half 60g protein isolate roughly 55g protein bsn syntha 6 2 scoops, 16oz of fat free milk - 14g fat / 50cho / 60g protein rice cakes, normally one package in the pm - fast acting carb instead of bags of candy ramen for sodium little bit of carbs 10oz of chicken thighs 4-7oz of sweet potato home made marinade 6oz of troll caught tuna, some light mayo, relish, spicy mustard, hard boiled egg mixed baby green leafs with a 1/2 tsp of light olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette
Today I had the starbucks pastry which eliminated the rice cakes and ramen from the picture...
Instead of the shakes sometimes I will just make a fat 16oz top sirloin steak. which is normally around 18g of fat 0 carbs 100ish grams of protein. Really just depends on schedule, no cronuts, donuts, blah blah blah.

Wayne, try this combo.
Haribo "golden bears" and hershey's chocolate bar (or kisses) just get the proper ratio of gummy bear to chocolate in each mouthful.
you can try a combo or 2+2 inches soft or 4+4 inches hard of cock.

He could get to your level before you could get to his. His strength progress is way ahead of your "thinness" actually.

And yes, he's strong. Strength is only relative to the person and their % VS their bodyweight...not to Art's size.
He's what...195-200lbs? EXRX standards basically have his deads and squat @ advanced and his bench/OHP @ the top end of intermediate (based on the pic he posted earlier). You're what...225? That puts your EXRX deads and squats @ over 480 & 410 respectively and your bench @ 305 (this I'm sure you beat). Even if you can beat those deads/squats numbers...I srsly doubt you're crushing them. Even so...he's been at this probably a 1/3 of the time that you have. You've never come from fat to strong.

Point is...you're NOT in the elite column. So you're looking down on a guy that really fits within the same columns as you do. And he did it without the genetic advantage that you did it with.
Not sure why you keep hating....over and over and on and on......The dude has progressed in strength nicely and has said for years that getting shredded isn't his goal.

Based on the pics you posted I actually wondered if you lifted anymore.

Such napoleon complexities It's actually you with the complex. You always want people to bow down to your strength/size. Bottom line is you're not very impressive at all to anyone. You're just big/tall and cut. You obviously lift and you obviously have genetics on your side.
All you do is hate on everyone else, criticize and yet never actually share or prove anything about yourself. Only thing we know about you is you can't even operate a phone camera, lol all blurry pics.
Would you put your money where you mouth is? Would share your lifts and proof that you're not full of shit with the numbers? Or are you just going to hate on everyone that doesn't do it your way, drinking heavily all week while telling us all to eat clean?

So "no"...pretty much what I thought. both myself and wayne started in the OG fitness thread before there was a forum. Back when you would talk shit and say people who spend hours in the gym have no lives and it's not worth it etc etc I've posted so many pictures and videos of myself dude, there's nothing to prove. I proved it. You're far out of your league dude. And even my current pictures im still like the most jacked guy on the forum lol The genetics comments are a cop out, you know nothing of my genetics, you just assume. I've You hit post before you finished? lol your anger complex.
Anyway...this is all deflection.

You need like 7.5' for a rack, maybe less for a smaller topless rack. And for OHP you'd need 8' easy, of course you could do seated. I guess 7.5' is too much to ask for a basement?
But to NEVER have to wait, travel or wear earphones? Grunt all you want!! Try heavy weights without worrying about the embarrassment of failing?
I TRIED 305 squat yesterday...only made it about 10% back up and then bam. Amazing how 5lbs can tip the scale.

http://youtu.be/55v5t95Tbtw boring ohp Dude, I like that dumbell pull you were doing with the bench up on plates. I've always wanted to do that movement, but for some reason I've never thought of putting plates under the bench so I'd be able to do the movement and get full arm extension. It's called a seal row, it's a pain in the ass to set up obviously but it takes your lower back completely out of the row so you can focus all on the upper back (lats, traps, rhomboids) Depending on the type of bench, this can also be done with a barbell, unfortunately we don't have any normal benches, they all incline.
Plus, I'm so jealous of your gym with all the people there. Where i m working out now there is usually some smelly ethiopian doing curls on a machine and 6 people doing "cardio" on sit down bikes. Lol. Once I get back on track I'm going to have to start going to a real gym again for the support and mptivation of seeing strong people.
I think the best thing about this gym environment overall is that the strongest people there want feedback too and are willing to also point out things that you could be doing. They kick it to you straight, nobody who is strong wants to hear that every lift they did was awesome just because it's heavy. At some point they sucked too, so they're all super humble and cool.
Crossfit, always felt like everyone was out to get you, they were all up in your shit "what did you get, oh I got this, oh I beat you today." that was really unappealing to me.

I can relate...I was trying to lose weight for a half I ran this past Oct and I was in a weird spot of gaining weight...ended up nearly 10# over where I wanted to be. Crazy. Turns out I had substantially reduced my cardio without really adjusting my intake for like 3-4 weeks. The taper just made it worse lol
I'm sure this doesn't help.my bad

I would say it's like a hack squat machine if there were a way to make it a free weight.

Jesus lord still no control over food
Nah, no full on yolo's but it's so easy to go over 2000 calories on any given day with the volume I'm at, most people like yourself are eating 25-3000 calories, I'm on a slow controlled deficit with minimal cardio. It suuuucks.

LOL That feel when I only eat 2000-2200 calories on the daily with 0 cardio and you're telling me to stop eating everything. kden lol

I always thought you were aware and just didn't care. I had no idea that it had progressed to denial.
I forgot you still try to talk to people as if you're some kind of a peer or we're at some similar level of bro ship or something. I'm doing what I have for a purpose, a reason, you're just a dude in your garage.
We're not on any similar level, in any shape or form so please don't converse with me as such.
If I say I suck at carbs then hey I went over 25g shit happens oh well. I also go over protein all the time too, my adipose fat storage is my midsection thighs and ass. Those were the cards I was dealt, such is life.
I'm sorry I'm not an appealing powerlifter, not everyone can be dan greene.

Actually I can outright outlift you on bench.
I can out cardio your ass any day of the week on anything.
I'm also able to manage my weight properly.
& I don't need a tripod, camera & multiple blogs and stupid fad diets while wearing spandex onesies to do it.
Congrats, you eat everything in sight & squat/deadlift good numbers. How exciting. But great attempt at "putting me in my place".
You put yourself in your place, now go back to the treadmill to work on that desirable body of yours your wife is probably ungodly sick of...
kthx

I don't get the hate. Wayne stated many times he doesn't give a fuck about diet or looks. Heavy ass weight only.
I have a friend who is very into powerlifting and has been competing for years. He's carrying a ton of fat, and also moves a ton of weight....no fucks given.
TFW cutting to 205, will still look fat as fuck.

Anyway, I guess I'm sorry 137. I will only high five your efforts from here on out.
Don't want to hurt any feelings.
I don't want your applause, support, or criticism. Granted this is a public forum and everyone is free to post what they want. You try so hard to live vicariously through everyone else only to find some way to talk about yourself, it's so fucking sad and annoying.

This thread is a roller coaster of encouragement/discouragement.
Wayne's doing what makes him happy. I can't fault that. The dedication and analysis of it is kinda interesting.

It seems like twitter trolls get a bit more sociopathic than web board trolls do. The trolls Howard Stern has get a bit scary at times--super stalkerish and persistent.

in case anyone is curious, the lifting fed I am going to participate in. USAPL, rules for the bench are. feet need to be flat, butt, back, and head must all be in contact with the bench throughout the lift, you also have to wait for commands.
The start command, the press command once the bar touches your chest, and then the rack command.
miss any commands, no lift, butt comes off of the bench, feet off of the floor, head off the bench, no lift.

Actually the only goal was to go 9/9
It wasn't much but it was a 15ish lb increase in my total as I previously did 445/265/525 - 1235 15 weeks ago.

Out of sheer ignorance--why would you want to go back down to 190? Easing back on the powerlifting thing for awhile?

My guess is weight class. I'll also guess that Wayne didn't cut at all and went in at what ever weight he normally weighs at during his training. Just one less thing to stress about. A big thing to stress about actually.

The training was brutal man, I haven't had that much of a "dead period" to really focus on leveling things out chemically in my body. I was eating poverty with a refeed, training needs jumped up. But calories had to stay in check and no cardio to regulate anything or to create a deficit.
So I went from eating like 2100 calories to almost 3500 and still never felt like that was enough, 0 cardio. 4-5 hour lifting sessions. That was just the first block of training I posted earlier, the 2nd half got worse.
weight kept going from 215-210 then back up and without cardio there was no way I was getting to 93kg/205lbs in 7-8 weeks so I just went up to the next weightclass and used that to my advantage letting me eat my way into the meet.
But now I'm sitting at 225lbs and I'm not willing to do another strength block and let it get any higher than that. That was not the purpose of me giving up looking like a sexy boy to become a total fat ass again, so I am just going to coast and drop back down and also kick back on training.
I didn't realize how stressful training 5 days a week could be, then tapering down to 4 days and now I would like it to be 3 days.
While most don't think 5 days is a huge deal, 5 days a week at 3-5 hours a session is like a part time job. Nutrition was basically whatever was in front of me, or how I felt emotionally rather than being disciplined and motivated to be a chef too.
Just so many things out of my control, at times I'd finish a week of training, then free time was dedicated to sleep maybe a solid 4-6 hours of that a day, playing video games 2-3 hours a week, grocery shopping and then trying to cook for the week 5-8 hours for that as long as I don't have a family engagement, wedding, etc to attend.
so yeah I need a fucking break because this being fat shit isn't cool.

sounds like it's not as fun as it used to be, I think many [most?] of us struggle with motivation here. I know I do. Normally I try and picture what I wish I could become or do and that so far has been successful in motivating me to keep going.
Of course my sights are set super low and I'm only working out like ~7-8/hrs week with a bunch of that on the weekends.
I'm super ok with project mediocre mid-packer lol

The main thing I'm taking away from that is your gf's perfect ass
Sorry to hear it was such a struggle. I DGAF what you're into, if you're doing it for that many hours a week, it'll likely lose its lustre. Congrats on all of the efforts and actually making it to the meet. Nice work. Good luck in the next phase.
