The last teaser vid for the Nikon is out and it looks like a pretty solid / fun to use camera, but then that is the marketing dept's job. Had a fleeting thought about using the $$$ I have been saving for a fast UWA for one of these things then remembered the MSRP. A Used D700 + old AI lens I already own would probably do the trick for a 1/3 the cost image-wise with less of the retro appeal and a mirror. http://www.slrlounge.com/body-elements-revealed-nikons-latest-pure-photography-teaser<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/7CfeddhQGHU?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> The ISO dial or whatever it is looks pretty nice but not $3K nice. One day. I checked CL to see what the d700 goes for now, I see between $1000 and $1300. I paid $1400 a hair over a year ago, it's a fantastic camera. Love it. But this has really got my jimmies in a bunch. Itchin' to see what the complete spec package turns out to be. Any weather sealing? Why would the guy be touring Scotland if not? It's all wet and shit there right? The size looks good, just a bit under a d600 maybe. Hope I sell a lot of prints tomorrow

I do wish it was 16mp rather then 12. A minor niggle, but would be nice. That's really the only upgrade I'd like, I think. Everything else works great for me.

I've printed 2'x3' images from my D700's files with no signs of softness or pixelation. STFU! No, I concur. Since I don't have a 70-500 2.8, I crop the race shots at times.

YeahThe Sigma 120-300/2.8 is looking pretty good, albeit expensive I've looked at that, and considered it. If I were getting paid assignments, I'd have something like that, or at the very least rent something longer.
"Gonna go into the woods and see what I can photograph." crunch, crunch, crunch. Bill's the only creature in the entire forest who didn't hear him coming. The 'leaked' photos of the Nikon are out and it's a little more goobered up than I was hoping, but wouldn't kick it out of bed for eating crackers. http://www.slrlounge.com/leaked-images-new-nikon-df-cameraThe dedicated ISO and shutter dials are pretty sweet. Going to be interesting to see what the price point is.
no go for me at $2750, per the amazon leak. oh well. maybe back to lusting after an xpro1 with the 23 1.4, if it ever ships...

no plug for remote shutter or for my pw cable to go to trigger camera remotely? fuck that noise.
who the fuck still uses cable release on a digital camera nowadays
