I don't doubt they're not your thing...but you don't "understand" the draw to an obstacle course that is 3-12 miles long (depending on competition) that is rallied around good food, music, awards, teamwork, friendship...getting muddy, exercising and throwing down a few brews?

I think the issue with them is that they've become too trendy/popular and thus too over-attended, which results in long waits at each obstacle.

I've only done one and yeah, there some waits at a few. Especially at the start.

I'd like to see them make the first run longer to weed out the tards earlier and let the herd get ahead of them rather than only a 1/2 mile in where any excited tard can make the run.

I made the HUGE mistake of getting in the back at the start.

I'm doing the one in Arizona in February.

I've done the warrior dashes and mud runs and other crap like that in the past and ran into all the obstacle BS that OB1 was talking about. I'm hoping the tough mudder since its longer, kind of weeds out all the BS tards that sign up for the shorter races.

Based on my friends and wifes comments...it doesn't. Although it thins out after 4-5 miles quite nicely...assuming you're not drifting into the the slow people from the time slot before you.
