Getting mine in 10 minutes, offered thru work.

Typically no adverse reactions other than a sore arm for 24 hrs... I do it pretty much every year if it's offered close to work, else I'm too lazy.

Mine is offered at work, haven't been doing it. I think I did it once 5 years ago, but that was so I can get away from my desk for 30 minutes.

How is your arm sore after a flu shot?

got mine done a couple of weeks ago.

getting my kid stabbed with it on the 28th (she had 2 boosters on her annual check up -- i asked the doc if he can just give her the 3rd too he gave me that look; so i booked a follow up appointment \:D ); she's a tough cookie, didn't cry at all during her shot, teared up just a bit but quickly went back to smiley mode.

^ Whatever germs the kids bring home is just plain deadly. One year, the kid was sick for 2 weeks and took down my wife; mom, bro&sis in law.

Last year I was sick for 2-3 weeks and I've never been sick that long.

Flu shots are a must.

A current flu shot really only protects from a past flu strain, not a current one, so you can still get sick.

its amazing how you are still alive today. given the fact your rents never got a flu shot when you were a kid ;\)

good sanitary practices (like washing your hands frequently after being anywhere public) do a lot more for preventing getting sick imho.

Prevention is prevention... how is getting the flu shot different than washing your hands? Will both make me completely immune to getting sick? No, but they both reduce my chances...

Ask any parent, the worst feeling is when your kids are sick... they're helpless. If you can lessen the risk of them getting sick, odds are most will take those precautionary measures.

I get the flu shot every year and have never got the flu or got sick from the shot. That has got to be the biggest myth about the shot. Whether you choose to get it or not is your decision... I just like to think of it as extra "insurance" lol
