Yup. Love that wing but it's simply impractical. It blocks a lot of the rearward visibility...and the trunk latch area is known to fatigue from the weight of spoilers (thus my new trunk is wingless!)

If "feel" is what you are going for, rather have a nice E30 M3. Even rarer, and way more "involving" in the drive.

Wow OT!

Yes - I agree with you 100%. having driven an E21, E30, E36, E46 and E90, it is clear that it progressively get's worse in terms if isoluation (as refinement goes up). But having come from owning a classic car myself (240Z), I appreciate a sort of inbetween.

That being said, no arguement. E30 is wonderful. Collectable and stunning to look at. Growing up though, E36 was what I wanted and so that is what I ended up with! That and my car is really a track slut and nothing more. Poor E30 if that were the case. It'd be nice to keep the remaining bone stock street examples just that! Bone stock street cars!

Trunk latch area is an easy fix, I just put an added piece of steel as per the DIY...no more issues.

I hate that fucking wing, it's disgusting...it also doesn't do anything to impede your rearward visibility. Just an FYI.

and its a fucking awesome wing. Im gonna buy an ebay one and put it on your car.

theres a an esotril with a bolt in half cage and that wing near me. major jelly.

Agree - the sheetmetal can be re-inforced.
Someone had taken images of the rear obstruction with the wing--it's actually pretty significant. Apart from the upper portion of the wing itself (as Euphoric mentioned) blocking things (this isn't as bad is the next issue), the wing blocks that raise the wing itself obstruct the 2 outer edges of the rear window, creating a minor blindspot on either side when looking in the rearview. So oui oui, it's hot. Not sure I could live with it.

I just got a wimptastic lip on my trunklid (30 bucks painted and shipped from ebay bahaha)

Running the sti without a wing right now and its night and day on the rear word visibility compared to with the oem wing. same issues(with upright section blocking a lot of road).

Its not a huge deal(you get used to it) but its still there.



and your m looks slammed. what suspension?

My suspension is nothing special - Bilstein PSS9. Both images are of it rolling so it looks more slammed than it is. Getting it corner balanced in the spring
