Duc, you could probably do some great shots if you're willing to do some composites. I like that shot with the blue, white, red (it's probably not white, but appears that way) but the red vehicle is blocked.

If you setup on a tripod and found a scene where you know multiple cars will be traveling, consider doing something like that.

Example of what i'm talking about, though a little exaggerated

Thanks for the love on the Falken shot, I don't know which I like more... Shooting racing or shooting stuff like this. Such different ways of doing, well, everything. I lit this with single tube Kinoflo constant lights, they are basically fluorescent light fixtures with controlled white balances and they don't flicker on video. The background was composited from a few different places, I had to have someone help me do it since I didn't have time and I kinda fucked up by not getting a proper floor for ANY of this set. My own fault for sure. Either way, I'm like 80% happy with how these came out. I'll revisit the floors soon, I'm scheduled for a day of shooting just floors in the studio lit in various ways in early November. Glamourous day that'll be.

Duuuuuude. I kind of feel bad, because I thought that was an example from someone else that you found and posted. So, I'm kind of sorry for blasting you directly.

But not really. Those are LITERALLY one click fixes and you are fucking lazy for not doing that in PS/LR/whatever else you use and you know that.

Also, clean your own sensor like a man. It's no harder than pumping your own gas or mowing your own lawn. Or waste extra money paying some other asshole to do it and laugh all the way to the bank with your cash in their hands.

I just use sensor swabs and their cleaning fluid. I don't fuck with "dry cleaning." My sensor is constantly dirty, but I clean it still to try and keep some sort of sanity. But it always gets dirty again. That's just the nature of the beast.

ah haha!

I'm the same. I shoot in dusty environments, I change lenses, whatever... I shoot wide open most of the time, so it doesn't matter much, but I've been trying to shoot stopped down a little more lately and I pull out the swabs every now and then. It's quick and easy and usually makes a positive difference

I thought I had them all, then after I exported and uploaded I noticed them and just haven't uploaded the most current version.

I have the D600 and am eligible for the free cleaning/shutter check but didn't want to send it in since I was waiting for our daughter to be born before I figured out a date to send it back.

But for now, i'm going to clean it myself.

Fifi, the only flying B-29 on the planet paid a visit here...

Boeing B-29 Super Fortress by ewraven, on Flickr

Reading around the web. This particular B-29 that was bui;t in 1944, sat with a bunch of others from 1958 to 1971 at a bombing range in California. Her and others around her were used as target practice over the years. \:\( I guess Fifi survived that, but then they were systematically stripped and vandalized by people until Fifi was discovered and refurbished by what at the time was the Confederate Air Force, but is now the Commemorative Air Force.

Something I have always felt as amazing technology for the time is the gun system. The four machine gun turrets on the fuselage are connected electrically. You aim one at a target and all four aim and fire at that same target. She truly was a Super Fortress.

Got lucky with this one. Wasn't planning on this when I took the shot, but got lucky when the film came back (shot on my Yashica 35 GSN on Kodak Ektar 100). Red Rock Canyon park outside of Vegas

Working on this iPad has really killed my photos. My resolutions from the camera are 5184 by xxxx. Working on the iPad shrinks them down to a max res of 1024x6xx

Shit blows

Duc - do you do most of your editing on an iPad? Just curious, I've considered getting a new iPad and wanted to know how light editing on one compares to a laptop or desktop.

Just started this week since my MBP died. It's alright but to me, it doesn't allow me the freedoms that a iMac or MBP gives

I did a small write up on it this week. With editing on the iPad, it's a fucking process. As stated in my earlier posting, you lose a lot of the file size. With me having an iPad2, I still have the ability to use the sd card reader attachment but that comes with a price. My photos are imported still with the cr2 format but to use the photoshop ms app, I have to save them back to the camera roll in a jpg format or to the creative cloud in .psd format. After that, I can start editing them in the free Lightroom app. It's all global editing. There's no option to pick a certain area and work on the sharpness/clarity/etc of that area. After that, I have to save it again to the camera roll and then I can open it in the photoshop touch app ($9.99) to make any small changes like gradient filter etc or other changes that aren't in the free photoshop app. You can save to your creative cloud folder from there or back to your camera roll when you are done along with sharing it to Flickr/Facebook/etc.

I really miss working on my computer and want to get back to it soon
