Stomach.

For the guys who are eating like horses trying to put on mass - Post up a good example of what you're eating throughout the day.

I want to get a feel for the ridiculous amounts of food I have to put down to gain mass.

I just finished lunch - 1 cup cooked brown rice, 6oz chicken breast, 1 cup steamed vegetables, 1/2ox almonds. I average 2600 cals a day, and those are cycled through the week on lifting and non-lifting days. Not a big eater by any means, but it's enough for me.

I'll try to post up a menu when I get off work.

I'm trying to cut weight but still lift at as close a level as I'm used to.

Daily meal:
B: 1-2 cups of coffee, 2 apples and a banana or 1 apple and banana and a fage 0% Greek yogurt.
L: 7oz of white meat chicken (in a bag) 12oz steam bag veggies, seasoned with yellow curry
S: 1-2 apples and a banana
D: Greek yogurt carton

I've been coming in at right around 1000 calories a day. If I don't snack as much on fruit or have the extra container of yogurt, that drops me 120-200 calories.

How much does the OP weigh...?

I know when i was really trying to gain mass, i was up to 3600-800 calories a day... and it's alot of "clean food", but i was trying not to eat a bunch of garbage to minimize fat gains...

eating that many calories is work in of itself... \:\(

I'm at 210 lbs, about 6'3" - slender build.

I'm trying to see if trying to maintain a mass-gaining diet is going to be as difficult as I think it will be.

Because fact is, even if I intake 4000 calories a day, I'm just not going to be able to maintain that diet longterm and end up losing that mass - so what's the point?

OP you are at my target weight. And we are the same height. I remember that weight and I wasn't too skinny. Are you looking to get yoked or just put on a little more muscle?

I still have some skinny fat to get rid of, but yeah, I'd like to add more muscle mass (who doesn't?!).

I've only been doing the 5x5 for a couple months now so I'm sure I have a ways to go with this program.

Food is just fuel, bro!

But since I intermittent fast every day, that's just about 1-2 gigantic meals before I sleep.

Drew, what cottage cheese are you eating? I eat Daisy 2% which is 180 per cup.

I get the Walmart fat free or the Target fat free. About 140 per cup. I also add a shitload of Stevia to it, though.

Cheese = salty (or at least neutral, but never sweet).

I make a Bako shake for breakfast, drink half right away and the other half an hour later.
The Bako shake consist of:
3.5 cups of whole milk
1 cup of ice cream
1 cup of peanut butter (half of the jar)
2 tbsp of olive oil

That equates to ~2500 calories.

I workout at 4pm and have a 375 cal protein shake then a huge dinner at 10pm of approx 800 calories then the same 375 cal protein shake before bed.

So im averaging approx 4000 calories a day.
