Hi guys

Long time no speak. There seems to be less and less Si's and Type R's around. I feel Honda has lost it's way a little with it's latest generation of cars too.

Well I still have my Integra Type R after buying a new runaround ('06 Civic 2.2 turbo diesel)Great family car with masses of torque.

Here is my original post about my new ITR

Well I finally went boosted on my ITR. Here are some pics of my build up to September this year. The build is aimed at a fast reliable road car that I can use reliably on trackdays. It's currently only limited to 9psi and tuned on Hondata S300

Second hand Integra Si block purchased

Test fit of turbo and mani

CP pistons and Eagle Rods

Block decked and honed

Rod bolts tightened to correct stretch

Home made TIG welded IC pipes

Original ITR engine removed

Si block fitted with uprated 6 puck clutch

ITR head fitted to Si block and turbo ancilliaries fitted

Black IC

Here are some more recent pictures after a few tweeks to the setup
AC bits removed for safe keeping ;\)

Alloy rad test fit

Not much clearance on the wastegate pipe!

Random front shot of turbo gubbins :P

All fans fitted and oil cooler mounted 8)

Obviously it wasn't just as straight forward a job as that. Fitting the oil cooler/fans/sandwich plate and getting everything to fit properly was a pain it the arse!!!! I'm glad it all fits properly.

I ran the engine for over an hour and the fans never kicked in so I bridged the fan switch wires just to make sure I had correct rotation on them. With the original radiator fitted the fans would have definitely kicked in so the extra capacity of the new radiator must be helping already. Well see how it goes on track!!

Just got a few more jobs to do and it's time for trackdays! \:o \:o \:D \:D

Trackday pads arrived!!! Hopefully will find time to fit them soon!

Looks like a solid setup. Track car I take it, given the picture of the pads and all?

Yes, a road car that can be driven to the track. It's not stripped out or anything like that. I've tried to keep it as standard looking as possible. If I need to do the school run to drop my kids off, I still can.

I can't believe how smooth it is with the Hondata S300 and for an old 57 trim (journal bearing) turbo, there's hardly any turbo lag. The guy that mapped it for me here in the UK did an awsome job! All I've done is tweaked the closed loop and cold start parameters because it was slightly rich in that area. I'm really pleased with the outcome. It's only running 8psi but for the track, that's all it needs. It has the torque of the turbo and the revs the Type R was designed to have. Honda should have done this from the factory!

Quick update to this. I've now done two trackdays in this car with plenty of 9K rpm beating and apart from a boost pipe blowing off (now fixed) it's run faultlessly
