Now 199.0, down 2.75 from last week. \:\)

Finally did measurements yesterday (and prob won't do them again for a quite awhile)

Chest 43.5"
Arms 14.5"
Stomach 41"

My conditioning is AWESOME right now. I'm just gonna keep rolling with it...

So, I finally got around to buying a scale and starting my diet. It's embarrassing to post, but, we're all here for the same goal.

Weight as of Friday 1/13: 356
Weight as of Sunday 1/15: 353
Weight as of Tuesday 1/17: 347

My most imminent goal is to lose roughly 40lbs by March to save about $500 on my surgery costs. After the Band, my goal will be 180lbs.

Can I be an unofficial participant and use this tread to post diet info and progress?

DL'd myfitnesspal this morning. Wife and I are both on now.

Goal in MFP is 2410 cals per day. I am going to crush that number, on the under.
870 Cals between breakfast, lunch and snack. 1540 for dinner and a snack remaining. dinner will be stir fry with chicken breast.

That sucks.

Can I recommend this? I've had it for a couple of years and it's awesome.

That looks like a neat gadget.

Not quite robust enough for me, though. \:\(

Gonna keep that on my watch list. Maybe in a couple weeks. ;\)

Quick question, do you have to set people up in order to get fat percentage? I've had this for about a month and was trying to show a buddy of mine how it worked but for some reason it would read his weight but not the fat percentage. It kept going to a screen with what looked like a sideways wifi meter. It happened every time he stepped on it but worked fine every time I got on.

You know, I'm not sure. I think you may need to though because it needs your height to figure out body fat %, no?

Getting off to a slow start. Only got in one 11 mile run last week (but at a 7:40 pace woot) since the wife was away for work, then had family visiting this weekend. Oh well....haven't lost any fitness at least.

Damn nice job to the guys who are dropping 10+ lbs in the first two weeks, that's a nice difference and a noticeable one too (re: 137).

I don't give myself too much credit yet \:D

The vast majority of the first 10 to 15 pounds people lose is water, blood, and feces. The next 10 to 15 pounds will be the true test for me, actually losing fat and not wasting away what little muscle I have.

Week 2: -12.8

Boomshakalaka. Probably just scale difference, though I was shooting for 10lbs.

So you're talking completely zero carbs? So no grains, fruit, or vegetables? Just going to eat meat and eggs?

I am down 11lbs in 10 days. Pretty happy with that.

First 10 day stint with no beer in a fair amount of time for me too lol.

The minor side effects will wear off in a few days. When I restarted my detox off of carbs, I had a minor headache for 3 days.

first 7 days will be a max of 20 carbs per day but none of that will come from straches... any carbs will be from veggies basically...

meals will look like this...

Meal 1 - 1 whole egg, 4 whites, some sort of lean meat
Meal 2 - 30-40g protien with some healthy fats
Meal 3 - 6-8 oz of lean meat with lettuce and cucumber salad with a Tbsp of olive oil
Meal 4 - basically the same as Meal 3, with some broccoli
Meal 5 - 30-40g protien with some healthy fats

I'll follow this all week then Sunday I'll have one cheat meal as my last meal of the day...

Whats a cheat meal?

This is pretty much my nightly nutrition setup. I'm actually pretty close to 1500-1700 a day I didn't realize how much less I've been ingesting.

Basically trying not to eat the same thing daily, and trying to keep the food interesting while simple. All of my meals are planed out a month in advance by my girlfriend so she knows what to buy for groceries on a weekly basis. It's nice to have that type of support model at home.

Having that kind of support is great.

Cheat meal? Eating something you know isn't good for you/healthy and/or won't help you achieve your goals. \:D

I had a craving for sushi last night but by the time I got it and back home, I didn't want it anymore.

Looks like i'll be eating a cup of broccoli a day on this new program i'll be doing... i've NEVER eaten broccoli before and wondering how to prep it for eating... do you just hack off the flower part and eat that or can you eat parts of the stem as well...?

I will likely eat it raw, as cooked veggies don't excite me at all... also bought some baby spinach leaves, never eaten this crap before either... i ate one, tasted like grass not bad... LOL... always though Spinach was "yuck", but again i don't think i'll cook this and just throw it in with some lettuce and eat it as a salad with some cucumbers...

Steam the brocolli so it makes it easier to digest them. They're pretty bitter and hard to take down raw.
