nice work! I love that feeling when you hit the zone and your energy feels endless.

crush it!

Are you doing any turkey trots next week? I've got a hilly 5k this Saturday, then a 2.8m fun run on t-day morning -- there's a chance I could win a random pie. I might need to figure out a costume.

i've started pushing out 6/4/6 and 4/6/6 runs though

might try to bump it(7/6/7) up before snow season starts in late dec to mid feb

are you doing any long, slow distance runs on the weekends?

I am going to try go keep doing 9m runs on the weekends from here until the half in February, and keep my weekly ones around 3(or4)5-6 for the M-W-F runs. then sprinkle in the elliptical cross training on T-Th with a rest day on Saturday.

The goal is to get to 25m/week

sometimes i catch a little hell for the three runs i do after work

can you break out during work?

I just did 3.1 on the treadmill (incline at 1% cuz that's apparently a better simulation of running outside). All in all I was down there, changed, ran, cooled, stretched, grabbed a sammich and back in my seat in 1:15

So for the last year Ive been fat and lazy. Ive been running off and on for the past couple weeks. No more than 2 miles and a lot of walking during the run.

I need to get my 1 mile speed up for a test next month, what should I work on besides getting my ass out there and hitting the pavement everyday?

Sprints? Distance? run 1 min, walk 1 min?

Im not that far off from the target time of 10mins(yeah I know, sad. I was averaging 8min miles when I ran my 3mile test a year and a half ago)

The main thing slowing me down is my shins, Im going to get new shoes today.

in order to run fast, you have to run fast.

do interval work - run at your comfortable pace, then sprint for as long as you can, then return to a comfortable run until you recover your heart rate. Repeat.

Did a hair over 5 today. 4 yesterday, another 4 tomorrow, and hopefully 6.2 on friday. We'll be in Yosemite all weekend, so I need to cram my weeks runs in before we leave.

I'm doing our local turkey trot next thursday morning. Last year did the 5k, this I'm looking to PR a 10k (sub 53:00, but I think I can go sub 50:00 if I'm feeling really good. The wsife was supposed to do it with me, but her knees are still shot after her 4:30 marathon last month.

I wanted to do a sprint tri that morning up in San Dimas, but fuck it's $110 to enter. I'd rather pay 30 for the 10k.

5k today on a rather hilly course, but I PR'd it!

23:54 and my splits were 7:50, 7:55, 7:35!! average pace of 7:43/mile!!

Had some monstrous hills (at least monstrous in my eyes). Here's the elevation profile from the garmin:

In total it was 166ft of elevation gained, with around 90 gained between miles 1 and 2. Fun course, but very windy and 37* at the start. Ditched my jacket after I got out of the heaviest wind around mile 1.5

Last best 5k time was 24:45 earlier this month. WOOT!!

Nice Job!!

As for me I went and just watched friend and teammates run the Cleveland Turkey Trot this morning.

I'm done running for awhile, I started the first of 4 leg surgeries yesterday.

Hopefully I'll get started again late January.

What...we got a bunch of weekend slackers in here??? \:D

Capped my weekend off with a nice 7 mile run at an 8:22 pace. I can't believe how quickly my speed is improving.

Yeah. Total slacker mode. it snowed this week and I didn't wanna slip on the ice. It's melted now, I should have gone today. Gonna hold out for my normal Tuesday run and up the mileage to atone for the week. lol.

8 mile run yesterday. Did not eat enough or drink enough water during the day, and felt it after about six miles.

A couple of short runs this week and then the half in Memphis on Saturday. Traveling for work, so I'll be doing one of those short runs in Tucson.

After my half, I'll probably keep running a couple of times per week but I'll be shifting my focus to cycling as I'm approaching 90ish days from the start of race season. One of my "A" races for next year that I want to perform well in is an omnium (time trial, crit and road race over two days) in early April, so I need to get my training plan formulated pretty soon.

nice work!

mine was 4.4 miles in 34:57

I wish I could run for an hour at lunch, but that leaves no time for cooldown/stretching/showering

no fucking way I could get by with babywipes. I am a fat kid that sweats a lot when he exercises.

it would have to be a beach towel sized baby wipe.

Followed up last nights 7 miler with an easy 3.5 today. Well it was supposed to be easy. The fucking jogging stroller had a flat so it was a major PITA to push it. My quads are still a bit sore from my bike ride on sunday, so I may take tomorrow off.
