I just moved to Jersey from San Diego and my Impreza needs new tires badly. I really want to get some Hankook RS-3's or other comparable high performance tire, but I've never lived in an area that had tons of snow. Would I be screwed in the winter out here?

Absolutely.

I have RS-2's and worry when it rains hard, never mind snow on the ground. You won't get ANYWHERE if there is any type of accumualtion on the ground and you shouldn't expect to given that they are an extreme performance summer tire. Traction also suffers on these tires, by a huge amount, when it gets cold out as well. Either get a dedicated set of snow tires w/ rims to run in the winter or a performance orineted all season to run year round.

^^ i agree. get a set of dedicated snows. you might as well walk than try to drive on rs3's.

Based on reviews from Tire Rack I am going to go with the Continental DWS. Seems to be the best of the high performance all seasons for the price.

Nice! Post up a review after you've had them on there for a little while...
