Fido's a fucking bitch, so are the other carriers... If I want to use my Fido dollars (which is about $80 now) ... I must buy through them, can't buy thru Apple, etc... No resellers either like Best Buy...

I am selling off my 3GS ($380), iPhone 4 is going to cost me $160 and to break out of my contract will be $500 and to sell iphone 4 ($500) after using it for a couple of months. In the end I'm still win win win win win!

I wish I preordered mine with Elmie's guy. This is rediculous I went to 3 stores by me.
#1 - Oh we didnt get any
#2 - Oh we didnt get any but call this store they did (I call - Oh we didnt get any)
#3 - Oh we got 8 and we are still trying to activate the last one (guy came at 8:30am and it was 11am when I was there)
Face punches coming to everyone involved. Rogers sucks so bad.

I bet they did it on purpose so that you would hate the way your 3G is running which gives you a reason to go out and buy another one. Is it me or isn't it common sense to test your product before selling it. You should demand your money back if you paid for the OS upgrade or roll back to the working version. I am new to the iphone so I don't know how bad for those who upgrade but from researching on line seems like everyone has the same problem.
You don't pay for software updates. Normally they are ok but I wouldnt be surpised - then again they are designed for the iphone4 which has much better hardware.
Still going to punch this phone.

Update - Secured 2x32gig iphone 4's to be picked up tomorrow with my buddy.

just got back from getting one.
was near Scar. TC this morning to pick up some stuff, noticed the best buy had a line up of like 3 ppl, went over there, only to find out they only have 5 phones for Rogers/Fido customer and all spoken for. Some dude in line was like, try the Rogers store in the mall, i hear they have 40.
Rolled over by 930ish, line of about 20ppl. Manager took down our information on a sheet and the waiting game begins.
Because the back end server (sales central or whatever) was getting pounded like a fuckin' jailbait on prom night, it was taking literally 45-60mins per activation, granted they had 4 terminals going so 4 ppl leave the store every hour.
I waited from 930 - 1. Started working with the guy at 1pm to upgrade my account, took about 45 mins to get it done. Buddy i was with had to go home to walk his puppy, so he called Rogers, made me an authorized user on his account and I did his too. His took an hour. I left the store at 3pm.
one thing i must say, the ppl at the store was fuckin awesome. not cranky, just whatever..shooting the shit and what not and did the best to try to refresh and reboot and what not. a real big shout out to them.
Now i play with my new toy.

pretty stupid, i know.
a friend posted up a pic on his fb on the line ups at eaton center -- it's ridiculous how "desparate" people are to own something new. even though it's been publicized as flawed. (what's worse is they'll probably "wtf" rogers / bell about dropped calls a few weeks into using their new phone).
it's a phone, yes a phone that does a lot, but a phone - get over it.

I'll have a bumper on mine anyways because the phone is pretty thin and I don't want to destroy it if I drop it. The antenna issue does happen though but I haven't last a call yet (don't have the bumper yet)

My wife has been yapping on hers since yesterday and has yet to drop a call. She got a new one an I upgraded to her old 3Gs. My 3G with the 4.0 OS was garbage. So slow, it constantly freezes, battery drains like mad. The 4G is pretty nice, but I dont think its a huge upgrade over a 3Gs.
We got hers at T-Booth. Waited longer to get the phone set up then to actually get the phone. This location got about 30 phones. Half Rogers, half Bell. The Rogers ones were all spoken for within 20 minutes of the store being open. We got there about 20 minutes after the store opened and there were only 2-3 people ahead of us.
