New si buyer, anything to be cautious of?

I am looking at a 2007 civic si with 20k for 17 grand. the car looks very clean, and well equipped, even has navigation. Are there any quirks with this year car? anything to be weary of or anything you guys suggest? Thanks in advance!

Third gear has problems on some models. For me the front windows rattle a lot when half way down and some others have this problem. Had it fixed by the dealer twice but comes back 4-6 months later.

Check for uneven tire wear, this is fixed with an alignment and rotating the tires every 6k.
Some of the 2007 model years were still affected by the 2rd gear syncrho issue. There is a TSB to be performed by the dealer.
Strut clunk, which only affects some. Dealer TSB.
Sunroof and Window rattles can get pretty annoying. I know I have had mine adjusted many times before.

STOP. My beloved 2007 Si coupe had an elusive oil leak and the dreaded 3rd gear problem. The dealers denied both for a long time. Eventually, after a lot of persistence, they found the leak and and the car stopped losing oil. But even after the transmission TSB came out, they still refused to fix it. After a lot of dealer visits, letters and phone calls, I gave up and traded the Si for a 2008 GTI. I LOVE it. I would not go back. Though I admit I loved the Si in many ways and I'm angry at Honda for not helping me. It was my fourth and last Honda.

I have a 06 SI. I did have the 3rd gear issued resolved by the dealer. It wasn't a major problem but since it was under warranty I had it done anyway. I have 40k miles and haven't had any problems. The Factory tires sucked and wore out fast so I got new rims and tires. Put on an intake and Magnaflow exhaust and love it. Not rattles,leaks, or any other issues

I wouldn't buy a Honda again. Piece of junk. I have an 07 Si.
Had the 3rd gear done, first year.
Just had clutch done only have 48,000 kms on it.
Unexplained dash noises, more prominent when cold outside,the stealership is stumped.

lots of fail in this thread
1) The 3rd gear issue is an easy fix now. Depending on how old your 07 is it may not be an issue at all.
2) The rev hang should not be an issue with your 07. There were only a few of them that didn't get the updated ecu info from the factory. Anything else is the result of people not understanding how the DBW system works.
3) The strut issues maybe from people who haven't checked to see if their dealers missed the bump stops from imporation.
4) If you have a clutch done in under 75k you can't drive.
5) Stock mich tires do suck. They are probably off the car already or soon will be. Use this to your advantage if they are. Get money off the car's price.
6) I have never had any issues with my sunroof or windows. I'm thinking more user error/abuse.

The only thing that bugs me about the new Si's is the ebrake location. Its always poking at the side of my leg when driving. Other than that I think its a cool car.

Google dont fail me now, isnt that like 30K miles? Driver error?
