I have 1999 civic with 175k miles and have been having evap and missfire codes appearing (missfire code in cyl 1 & 3). From these codes what should I replace? I took it to a shop and they said everything is good (said evap system good and compression good all sides)? I have ran a cleaner through and a few bottles of heet through. Originally when I ran some heet through it cleared all codes for about 2 weeks, now it came back and hasn't shut off with same treatment. When I stop at stop lights the vehicle will shudder and almost feels as if it is going to die, attribute this to the missfire.

What should I start with or what is the problem?
I planned on replacing spark plugs, & wires... what else?

Thank you.

You could start with a basic tune up

plugs/wires
cap
rotor
fuel filter
Do not use autoparts store stuff on your honda. Use genuine honda tune up parts or at least NGK plugs and wires.

Possibly even check O2 sensors with a scanner to see if they are responsive.

I have had cars that have a good/decent compression test, but have bad leakdown.

Your post is too generic to give you a good suggestion on what to replace.

After replacing wires+plugs+rotor+distributor cap haven't had a check engine light with any codes of miss fires. Thank you. However, now I am pulling two codes P0132, P1457. Aftermarket parts are 2.25 magnaflow exhaust, KN short ram air filter. I believe its a high circuit code showing that things are running rich. What should I replace with this? Is it the O2 sensor? I have had evap problems for the last 2 years.
