I was wondering how it works with those instant structures you can buy, because that's what's being replicated here but even those need permits. Most people don't get permits for things like decks, or things that don't annoy neighbours. This, may annoy your neighbours.

I would pay money just to sit and watch you construct this. Perhaps you should start selling tickets, it would help fund this project...

it won't be legal but will be functional and cheap.
I'm waiting for the thread entitled "My bmw got treed by a 4 x 4 from my shack"
You know as well as I do, 4 x 4 posts, sono-tube, and ready-mix concrete will cost you $200 alone. Don't forget the auger, 4 feet to the frost line, gravel for underlay, and mixer. I can't help forget, you jump on c2k about his life choices, job, house and money, but you're making the Senior Accountant dollars now, you're driving a bmw, and still you're cheaping out on oil changes, underground parking near work, and now a storage solution for that dream car you've wanted since high school? Is $200 in peasantry really worth a new windshield, hood, trunk, and roof repair to that bmw of yours?
Other than that, if you need a hand, let me know, i've also got a 1/2 tonne and a landscape trailer to rent for peasantry dollars (cheap).

What's wrong with looking for cheap parking?
How did i cheap out my oil changes? I use a bmw filter and the oil recommended by the mechanic that serviced this car for most of its life.
I don't have money coming out of my a$$ crack like most of you so i have to be frugal.
Nothing wrong with cheap parking if it was actually cheap and not illegal (cue re-programming of key fobs discussion)
Nothing wrong with cheap oil changes for a bmw, but you bought a performance car, do you really want to cheap out on the quality of motor oil (Cue Screamin's discussion) vs. affecting the performance of your car? No worries there, I'm about one block from Castrol's office in Toronto and right across from the Chyrsler engine plant in Etobicoke, so I guess I don't know what I'm talking about here.
Cue the $$ coming out of our cracks, we work, we earn a living, you work, live at home, and earn a decent living. This is not York University parking gates, or civicstylez days, good luck with the garage, I'll bet you a 40 oz'er that for $200 you can't build a structural/sound garage, that stands for all 4 seasons. Oh yeah, forget the permit process, that would be another $200, if even legal at all. (Structural plans, minimum setbacks, space, height, distance)

As far as your bet, I adjusted my price to under $300, if you still want to make that bet I am down for that. I will build the thing, i will take a vid to show you its sturdiness (i will shake it/hit it/whatever), in fact let's make a 2-4 of some sort of beer.
Let me know.
Sure Vas, my fuel is Vodka, Stoli or Finlandia by the bottle. But I could always use a case of beer to go well in the cellar.
In addition to $236 before taxes, don't forget the hangars, brackets, screws, nails, drill, chop-saw, hammer, shovel to dig the posts, wheel barrel to remove excess soil, and van rental & km/gas charge (because as you know 4 x 4 ten footers don't bode well in the interior of a bmw). Are we over $300, or do you want to call it even right now? I'll even go light and say chop-saw rental, drill rental.
Sure take a vid in the summer when you build it to let us see it standing, shake it with all your might, then take a vid after the first winter and a fresh freeze-thaw cycle to see it piled on top of said bmw. Just do it right the first time, spend the extra coin on some sono-tubes, auger, ready-mix concrete, support brackets, wheel-barrel, gravel and shovel. We won't think any less of you when you build it for $500, or have to rebuild it twice for $236.08 before taxes...

I don't need to buy/rent any of the tools and I have a 2001 Caravan with roof rack provided to me free of charge. It's not about people thinking less of me, i don't give a shit what people thing hence why i do more unconvential things and i am not embarassed to talk about it. I am doing this because it's been an expensive 2 months for me, fawk today alone i dropped $450 after having my entire bike powdercoated, i don't want to spend money where i don't have to.
