Not that I am any better than most of you guys! But hey I am proud of where I'm currently @

Ok little background, I had a bad motorcycle accident, broke femur etc back in dec 08. STill hurts to this day, and hurts more depending on how I move (running is one of them). Anyway, when i started back up again back in Dec. running I could barely run, and only walk. after a few weeks I finally started to run more and more!

(I do 2 miles a day)
was doing 12 min miles on the tread mill with lots of walking. I am now down to 8min 40sec as my best (with an incline of 1.0, the ran @ 7mph and last tenth or so i upped it to 8mph, no walking) 2nd mile is my slow down mile, so I get that done in like 10ish mins. I am now working on running longer rather than at a fast pace. downside, my HR was 181 after that

I am more of a inside treadmill runner due to something odd that happens to me when I run outside. My throat swells up and it's hard to breath \:\/ (odd I know) but this spring I am going to attempt to do most my running outdoors!

So what are your personal best on the mill? Sorry I am just proud of where I am! \:\)

and what are some of yours routines, ide like to maybe get something going.

i prefer the treadmill than going outside to run.
i natrually just start slowing my pace down if i start to get tired, with a treadmill i have to go at the pace set or else i'll fall on my ass.

i usually do 5min@3mph, then 5min@7mph
and i'll do that cycle 3 times for a warmup before i will do resistance training.

trying to cut fat and get lean and trim

Sweet.. I cant run on the treadmill for more than 10 minutes. I just get bored and want to quit. If Im running on the street, and I get 1.5 miles away from home, I cant just step off the machine.. gotta keep going to get back home lol

Be careful about too much treadmill running. Because the moving belt helps kick your leg back after a step, your hamstrings are less involved on treadmills than they are with normal running. Be wary of muscle imbalances, they can lead to injury if you really try exerting yourself.

Thanks for the info, I will make sure to be careful, and I can't wait for warm weather!

So today I ran 2 miles @ 6.5mph (incline of 1) with out stopping for a break or slow down. Last tenth i took it up to 8mph and finished off at 20min 12sec, walked a bit after, and ran another half mile at 7.5... Still feeling good about my self with this! \:\)
