wow, sorry to hear - at least you squeeze every ounce out of that car. sucks to lose something you take good care of. hope your settlement will be a good one. i'm still waiting on mine - damn rav4 is a write-off what?!.. really? there was that much damage on it eh?
didn't look like it at first - shop quoted @ $6k at first (rad, bumper support, a/c condensor grill , bumper, fogs, etc. etc.) -- ordered all the parts and were about to get started; as they removed the front, they saw that the two frame rails (the thing that the bumper support is connected to) is twisted and they looked further down and said the tranny housing's cracked and the mounts were toasted.
that was it.

May be not the WRX... I agree The WRX is the best deal :D, much better daily, AWD for the winter, Turbo for fun, and STI pieces so it looks good haha and a cheap price to boot. What more could one ask for? He already has access to an STi, his GF has one, he needs the refined balance only German egineering can provide. Besides, the WRX for daily? Are you serious? Turbo lag, soggy suspension, boy racer look.

Yeah but a used German car? I know he likes working on cars but I'm sure he doesn't want it to be a full time job (and have another full time job to afford the parts)

I will sell you this... give you good deal
And I'm thinking an STi would be better suited to my winter driving needs
