Do any of you guys know which car, mini van, suv, or pick up truck will this mattress fit?

I need something cost effective and the only thing that meets my criteria is zipcar, they offer a:

1. Toyota Tacoma Pick up truck
2. Mazda 5 mini van (i heard this thing is huge).

Any of you know if a queen mattress will fit?

Or any other suggestions?

budget has a dodge sprinter for rent, like $49 or something? it's stripped inside, long and tall type van so it fits tons. easily fits a queen mattress.

A mattress has give to it, you can bend it into a U shape (some can be bent further than others obviously)

My uncle moved a queen size mattress w/ his Odyssey (current gen.) just a few weeks ago, mind you we had to bend it to make it fit (and 2nd+3rd row seats removed, of course), but alas the whole thing fit inside w/ the trunk closed; we had to do it this way because we strapped the box spring to the roof of the car and moved everything in one go.

Mazda 5 is not that big, IMO - at least not compared to an Odyssey; so if we had to bend the mattress to make it fit in that. Not sure how good of a chance you'll have w/ a Mazda 5.

goto google, search for dimensions of the truck's cargo area, and compare with dimensions of the bed..

Hmmm.. how much is it to rent a van from home depot?

Have anyone dealt with enterprise?? how are they?
their Cargo van or large pick up rentals are $40/day.

Dude, don't be a pussy and just tie that shit to the roof of your car. As long as you don't have to drive 100km on the highway you will fine.

i've used uhaul many times...they're not good trucks and if you're doing it around the beginning/end of month moving period, it could be a cluster fuck...but if all you need is to move a mattress, rent a rapist van from them, can't be that expensive..as long as they don't charge you by the KM

edit - the uhaul across the street from Ikea Queensway, you can rent a uhaul rapist van for 90 mins (not sure if it's unlimited km) for like $20-$30.

find out how much the delivery charge first. if the charge is $20-30, might as well get it deliver than going through all the trouble to rent a van/truck to transport the mattress home

Delivery is $70 (which isnt the issue).

The issue is i dont want to pay for using the service elevator ($500 refundable plus $100 non-refundable, thus making deliver $170). I am not paying $170 to move a mattress up.

If i use the delievery service they will deliever it through the service part.

I want to sneak it in through P1/P2.

Enterprise - i can rent a rapist cargo van for $36, i think i'm a do this.

Yes its retarded, I can move the mattress up myself.

The management dude is new and follows the book. He wouldnt waive the $100 fee. Bascially i need to rent it so they would put up those pads for the elevator to protect the mirror. I rent it and i will get the elevator for 5- something Hours (not sure).

I dont need that time as i only need to move a freakin' mattress up...So ..i can't use a delievery service to bring me my mattress.

I'll just do it later at night with low traffic.

i'll take it up with the board about having to pay to move...that's bullshit.
doesn't matter if it's for a full move, or just moving a mattress.

Just take it up the stairs...

Or better yet setup a pulley and a rope and rope it up to your balcony for everyone to see. Then bitch about the $100 fee and what you have to do to move in a mattress and watch everyone lose it on the mgmt dude.

i still see people bitching about this.

about the only shti trucks they ahve left and still rent out are the big big guys. the rest are all new. they have revamped their entire fleet. theya re fine.

Ive moved myself A LOT in the last few yrs...probably more than most in here and have used most of the places youd think about...
they are all pretty comparable.
even uhaul, unless you go for a huge truck, then youll get a shit heap. but anything 17ft and below you are fine.
