I took home a brand new Civic Si sedan yesterday. Black with the satellite navigation option. I'm used to driving turbo charged vehicle as my last few cars have been evolution, wrx, and legacy spec b. This car drives a lot different than those vehicles. I know this car is quick and has power. How do I make the most of that power? At high revs? I feel like I have to learn how to drive again.

This car is fast as hell but you do have to know to drive it. The secret is staying in the rev range. If you shift at "NORMAL" shift points you wont get much power but once you learn where and when to get the power the car is a blast!!! Lets say your in 6th at 65 miles an hour. go neutral blip the throttle grab fourth and away you go. The low weight and the great suspension really come alivee. The car does not have explosive power but will emarras a lot of expensive machinery. Also at 6000 rpm the car feels like a turbo might be undr the hood. Have fun. Sorry about the spelling in a rush.

That's funny. I just traded in my 05' Outback XT Limited with the 5sp. 2.5L turbo as well for an Si sedan in the same color as yours. I took delivery New Years Eve. The power is definately different. Not that turbo spool-up. I'm sure we will really feel it on hills as our Turbo Subi's just pulled away from normally aspirated engines like they were standing still. However, I won't miss the lousy handling, the numerous problems with non-recalled wheel bearings (2 replaced at no cost thankfully), sensor problems galore, burned and arced coil wire, and horrific gas mileage.
As I was driving to the dealership both to place a deposit and then to take delivery, the Subaru's check engine light and cruise control lights came on again. Glad to get rid of it.
You have to rev the shit out of this Civic, say 5,00 rpms on up to keep it in the band. The car has no torque so to make up for it, keep the revs up high. Once the 6,000 rpm mark is reached, the variable valve timing kicks in and the sound is a pure symphony as I'm sure you have already experienced. I guess the car is designed to be driven like that. I'm putting synthetic in my car though, due to the high compression and high revving engine. Good luck with your Civic!
