I've been needing a second car since my Z isn't always the most reliable. I looked at a lot of different Miata's and ended up buying this really clean red one. It was a one owner car with a little over 150K miles. The guy kept super good care of it and the car was basically his baby (full records). I paid around $3500 for it. It's a 1990 but has the crank mod done. I drove both the 1.8s and the 1.6s and didn't notice that much of a difference. The car has factory LSD and AGX/Eibach strut/spring combo.

There was a lot of newer Miata's for sale but it was always shady used car lots and the cars had zero records.

I drove the car on Ortega Highway (20 mile winding road in Orange County..kind of famous) and had a blast...I was no where near the limits but was still a lot of fun.

Next mods will be a rollbar and wider rims/tires.

I've had lowered Civic hatchbacks, CRX's, VW Scirocco, 911, 240Z etc.. and this thing is probably the most fun out of all of them...and it's the slowest. lol

That's a good deal.

Yeah, it came with the hard top. I really wanted a hard top too...it keeps it pretty quiet inside.

Speaking of hard tops, check out this guy

He was in one of my instruction groups a last month when we did the streets of willow event. I wish I've had better pictures.

Homo...I mean grats.

I'd love to own a Miata. I'd also love to fit in the drivers' seat and not have to choose between turning the wheel to the right and being able to select 2nd gear, thanks to my physical size.

Nice. You should get something like FAUX 26 or 26 ISH or 90S ELAN or NO LUCAS (Cali gets 7 characters, right?) for a vanity plate.

cheers,
scott

We get it.....

And to the OP, nice car! Cool to know you liked it better than the other mini hatches you've had!

I saw a red 90 this weekend with 100K on it, new top with glass rear window and beautiful paint (no HT though) for $1,549.00. Blown away, almost bought it just to resell it for a profit. If I didn't already have a 2nd car I might've. Good kill though, if there's one thing these cars are, it's fun.

Sweeeet. Nice stance. I just did coilovers on mine this past weekend.

Difference between stock and Tein. Yowza.

Result.

Congrats! You might check out one of the spec miata races if you haven't already. You'd have to drive up to the willow springs area, but its worth it to see it once.

Which Teins did you go with? I have Flex's and I'm thinking about getting custom valved Bilsteins for a better ride/handling compromise.

I will be of no help then - I just went with the Tein Basics (yes, the lowliest of the low). \:\/

I don't track the car - I just wanted something slightly stiffer than stock and a couple inches lower. I also put a solid front sway (Racing Beat) when I did the coilovers.
