If your ever in denton check out "el guapos" its kind of a dive but they have really good mexican food and its cheap! (thanks josh).
El Guapos is good, but it's a DIRECT rip-off of Tia's. The dude that runs it worked at Tia's and took the entire menu with him once it shut down. The tortillas are super kickass!

hmmm I might have to do that tonight. I'm not that far from watauga, and I feel like taking the girl out to eat while forcing her to wear a butt plug and wireless vibrating egg for the entire evening.

LOL.
The place isn't much to look at, inside or out. Outside looks like a normal small town gas station. The inside looks like a gas station with plastic tables and folding chairs. The food however is damn good!

If I remember right, the chef's special was $125/person. Add a bottle of wine/other drinks and tip and it was right at $400 for two.
It was one of the best meals I've ever had. It really was that good. Of course, the drinks helped.
Better sushi can be had at Uchi. Prices are similar, but Chef Tyler will come out and chill with you.
Austin Eats:
Casino el Camino - Best Burgers in town, hands down (I recommend the LA burger, rare)
Hutts - Best theme burgers (Try the Fat's Domino)
Trudy's - Best texmex (Stuffed avocados) and Mexican Martinis (limit 2)
Curra's - Best interior Mexican (conchinita pibil >* )
Mother's Cafe - Best Veg (Best veg lasagna ever)
Torchy's - Best tacos (Try the fried avocado taco)
Homeslice Best Pizza
Mr. Tramp's European Sports Bar and Cafe - Best random classy food ever

More Austin Eats:
Casual:
Rockin' Tomato - Great pizza!
Foodhead's - Try the roasted lamb shank sandwich!
Mr. Natural - All veg, cafeteria style food that's STILL lip-smackin' good.
Best Wurst - This street stand will slap you with the food. Try out the brat with everything.
Taqueria Arandas - Try the menuda if you have a hangover AND a decent pair.
Stubb's - The sauce is killer, so are the sides, but the meat could do better. The smoked turkey is WAY better than the brisket here.
Salt Lick - This half Korean, half Texan barbecue sauce impresses all, and the meat is smoked right in front of you. So good that Details Magazine voted it the best barbecue to fly across the country for. BYOB - don't forget your beer and your CASH (no cards here!).
Green Mesquite BBQ - Great, local flavor. Been there 60 years, can't be anything less than great.
The Ditch (aka, El Arroyo) - Killer texmex, $1 margaritas on Tuesdays. Don't skip out on the enchiladas del mar. PS - read the menu, entirely. It's funny as hell.
Casual Upscale:
Mother's Cafe (all local, all veg moderate)
Eastside cafe (all local, veggies come from back garden, moderate)
North by Northwest - Great beer selection, try the Sirloin Salad or a nice cut of steak, moderate.
Upscale:
Uchi (sushi, fusion variants, pricey)
Finn and Porter (steak/seafood, downtown, pricey)
