I will be attending this, after the Scion event this Saturday in downtown Cleveland. Very good time to meet your fellow officers, win very nice stuff and most importantly give a charitable contribution to the fallen officer last month. If interested, here's the info below...I will be there all night. Hope to see some fellow OS'er and beverage likers! Quote: Hogs For Dogs Saturday, Aug 23 4:00p to 10:00p at Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #7, Akron, OH This is the 5th annual Hogs for Dogs event, attended by motorcycle enthusiasts, families and friends from all over the greater Akron area. Price: Free and open to the public. Donations accepted Phone: (330) 730-3289 Age Suitability: None Specified This is the 5th annual Hogs for Dogs event, attended by motorcycle enthusiasts, families and friends from all over the greater Akron area. Festivities begin with grilled food and side dishes served all night, and plenty of cold beer available. Participate in a silent auction and register to win dozens of great door prizes donated by sponsors. Special Hogs For Dogs T-shirts will be on sale. Activities for kids including a large inflatable bounce house. Live music by local band The Hot Wings from 6-10pm. The band covers a wide array of rock, pop and country music from many eras. If anyone would like to meet up, and roll in together...we can meet around my house. 44312 I figure if everyone "donates" $5 and I can bring 5 people, that's an additional $30 of donations to a very messed up tragedy and one of the only departments I believe in: K-9! I understand some of the silent auctions to be: Indian or Browns (I can't rembember) louges(sp?); bottle of Jim Beam? and some other quality stuff if you only donate $5 that you have a chance to win. Regardless if you win anything, it's still something to really enjoy first hand. Especially to be social with some of the officers that put themselves at risk for you and your family. Yep, 2005! Good turnout, not sure how much was raised...(not that it matters). I ended up spending $20, got 25 tickets, and came away winning $20 in Swenson's gift certs', $25 DQ Gift Card and a Swenson's Tshirt. Again, I would have been just as happy if I didn't win anything, as it was for a good cause. Even had (7) $2 16oz drafts! Thank everyone for viewing.
