Everybody has been telling me to do more legs since there is some chemical that is released in your body that promotes more growth. Is this true? I started believing this because i've included legs in my workout at least two times a week now and i've seen some pretty good growth out of me.

Just did legs today. 3 sets of 335x6 on squat ATG, 3 sets of 365x6 stiff leg deads, 3 sets of hack squats with 8 plates x6 and 4 sets of calves with the most the sled will hold for 12 reps. Then I did the "girlie man" exercises where you sit and do flyes with your legs. Some kid actually asked me why I do the girlie man exercise. LAWLZ.
I would say YES, doing legs, or more specifically heavy compound lifts, will make you stronger everywhere. Is it due to testosterone??? Maybe. Maybe it is due to your entire body getting stressed with heavy squats and deads. I dunno. All I know is it works. My bench was stuck at around 350 for a long time and when I started doing squats it shot up to 385 pretty quickly. Unfortunately, it has been plateaued there for a year.
Total truth, and with damn good reason. It's a reason why so many strength training routines are centered around legs. You'll notice a lot of them advocate squatting/deadlifting 3 times a week.
