I would start with a stainless steel cleaner, and then use a metal polish in paste form like Mother's in the can. I have a stainless steel cleaner/polish in spray form from Griot's Garage, and I can only guess that it's very similar/identical to a stainless steel cleaner meant for use in a kitchen. It's quick and easy to use, so I would start there, see how it looks, and then take the time to use a paste polish if necessary. I scrub my stainless Dinan exhaust with my wheel brush every time I wash the car, and then every other 2-3 washes I'll hit it with the stainless steel cleaner and a couple paper towels. Maybe wash it first with soapy water just to get majority of the grime off. You should have seen the cleaning I did on my stock exhaust... 50/50 before after Started off with a wire brush on a drill, then wetsanded 1000/1500/2000, then used polish. Outcome was a mirror shine! _________________________
