hey guys, im into building sleepers. other than the obvious new exhuast tone and aftermarket wheels and tires, my car has no cues that there is anything facky going on. i ran into a dilemna with the nitrous, i needed to mount the button somewhere but i couldn't find a place that was both comfortabe to reach and hidden. then i had an idea. i wired the activation button to the left horn button on the steering wheel! no one knows i have a little extra power. they see the exhuast and the wheels but not the 100hp surprise under my thumb! other mods as soon as im done designing. they include a turbonetics t3/t4 hybrid, aem ems, air to water intercooler, boost controller, larger injectors, anda new custom exhuast.

AEM EMS is good shit. My local tuner really loves it. Well, actually I think he likes the A'PEXi Power FC the best, but he's also a big fan of AEM's computer. Good hook-up on the nitrous. That will be a lot more discreet than some big red button.

Just make sure you don't let anyone else drive your car, they might forget and try to honk at someone who cut them off... and...

shit i never thought of that. maybe i should make it so both have to be pressed, but then i dont have a horn... o well no one drives my car ne way, they know i would kick their asss if they fucked something up. i was wondering, i posted something on another forum about the ems, but i havent gotten a reply. i asked if i could install the turbo then the ems, and go for a little ride while cycling through all the gears to get a base map, and then move the setting for my desired a:f ratio say 12.5:1. no local dyno so im really just looking for reliability, even if i dont get optimum performance, i would rather gain 50 safe hp than 100 piston melting hp.

wow wiring a nitrous button on your horn.. i think ive seen that some where also a sleeper isn't a car with an exhaust and wheels. a sleeper would look 99% stock and run 12s

nifty idea. Only thing is NOS is a sham and a crutch for weak and poor skilled drivers who dont know how to drive a car or cant afford a car that can go fast enough. Plus drag is for drivers who dont know how to corner properly. Its like the special olympics of racing.

I'll have to disagree, a sleeper is a car with tasteless rims, a body kit, wing, alteezas and cannon muffler.

I tend to look out for the ones that are very slightly modded to the exterior.

I'm looking to put my n2o activation switch in my cruise control switch, since I removed the cruise control, now it's just a green light that shines when I push it...just another thought. For me, NOS is just a quick boost for now, while I finish building my turbo set up. *shrug* everyone's got their own opinion on it, but I'm the one hittin 14.2 on my first try.

I don't see anything wrong with nitrous, even the best driving can't produce 100 more hp, since you are saying this about n2o im guessing you think that about turbos and s/c's right?

I have never used n2o myself but i have a friend that is a mustang guy and he said that you "should" hook the n2o up to the throttle cable. so it fires at full open throttle. the reason he said this is you should only use n2o at full open throttle. i like this because I'm not a fan of the hole button idea in the first place and i would not use it on the street, so if you don't want use it don't have the bottle hooked up or open.
