AMS are cool guys, never really mingled with them (except the internets) but at the shootout the seemed professional (I don't like to bother people when they are racing asking fanboi questions etc...). David however is very cocky. He blew me off at Maple Grove years ago as I was complimenting him on his car (the 2g RWD talon). At the shootout he was very short with me after asking him a legality question about one of the classes I race in (Diamond Star Eliminator). That and his internet drama and how he as treated some of my friends on a personal level make him think less of him. I had a few friends in Vegas who went out to Cali to get tuned by Al. Biggest mistake ever. Those guys actually made less power and were still running rich as hell. Took my buddy like 8 months for Al to come out and fix his tune. Al said his wideband had a bad sensor making it seem like the car was leaning out when in reality it wasn't. On top of that he runs wayyyy too much timing when boost hits and the car immediately starts detonating. The ecu is like what the fuck!!!! and then pulls a ton of timing. Since the car is pulling massive timing he cranks the timing even MORE up top to force the car to perform. I can typically take a car he has tuned and make it feel much smoother (because the car isn't pulling timing, you get a notchy feeling when it is doing ths), it will be more consistent (because on an al tune the car knocks all the time and performs different each time), and it will be faster (because I can overall run MORE timing because I don't force the car to perform, so it doesen't pull timing, and theirfore the ecu gives the car full timing advance). progressi progressi Post Master Sr Registered: 06/01/01 Posts: 9134	Hate to threadjack-but at these power levels the Evo X has poor trapspeeds for it's ET because it's got really aggressive gearing,and this means you either ride the limiter or you're in 5th gear through the traps. I didnt watch the video,but IIRC these guys posted that they went for 5th instead of banging the limiter all the way through. It appears the 8s and 9s will be better for drag racing.

Its been rated to handle bolt-ons and a re-tune on the ECU. This is according to a guy that spoke with engineers at the Cypress,CA facility. He had pics of the MRs and the Ralliarts to back it up. The FQ guys in UK have already started doing durability testing on an FQ360 version-they say it's doing well. I believe that article was in Evo mag. Im betting the manual trans will be stronger. The SST trans has failsafe modes to prevent failure though,FWIW. The Ralliart seems really cool. Same 4B11 with MIVEC on both cams,smaller turbo (probably the biggest bummer),lighter,still has ACD and SAWC,but no AYC (bummer),and cheaper. I could list all the problems, but overall when he got it back, after a hefty bill, it would barely start. Ran pig rich ALL the time. We had it retuned @ my dyno, and when we saw the map, my jaw dropped. Everything above his rev limit were fucking ZERO'S. Cleaned the map, and he made another 30whp. Started normal again, and it drove alot smoother as well. I have no respect for them, as well as some other items they screwed him on. _________________________ 05 Berlina Black S2000 700whp / 500wtq Built, not bought.
