I don't know what would happen if you used a +45 offset, but I had 205/45/17s on my car for a day or two because the shop used the wrong size (should be 205/40/17). I don't remember the offset of the wheels but even with the stock suspension on my 2000 Si there was rubbing in the rear when going around corners. 215/45/17 would be even taller so you be the judge.
