fill it through the vss hole, it doesnt use a crush washer. but you have to measure out the fluid first. i think for a b16 its 2.2 or 2.3 quarts.
you dont have to measure it out, on my car (b18b1 block, b16 head and gsr trans) i just took my intake off and i could get to the filler bolt from the top. so i jacked the car up, drained the fluid, put the drain bolt back in, lowered the car, took the filler bolt out from above, removed the vss and added fluid through that until it ran out of the filler hole (like honda reccomends). when it stops draining out the filler hole its at the correct level. Just remember to do it on level ground.
wjc05sti id say you have more than a fluid and bushing issue has it allways been hard or is this a recent issue?sounds like you could have the beginnings of a clutch or throw out bearing issue.
my shifter felt like it was stiffer too and it was squeeking (lol) so i took my center console and shift knob out so i could see the shifter, then i sprayed down under the dust boot to where the ball on the shifter pivots around, no more squeek and it shifts ALOT smoother into each gear.
