Ah, yes I was there. If it's the one out in Arnold Nebraska (can't view Youtube at work to verify), that's it. I was going to post some pics of the event and some shots of the Evo 2 a couple of weeks ago, but I've been extremly busy. Anyway, the bragging rights in the standing mile contest was between a "Viper" (used loosely) and that Evo 2. The Evo won by mere 10ths of a second. I'll post some more about it later.

As a side note my Cooper S (which I posted about a few months ago) managed an astounding 105 MPH in the half mile! Woohoo! At least I beat that Lincoln Mark VII (and a few other cripple-fighters). Last year I hit 107. My car is slow.

The Mile/Half Mile Shootout is part of a larger open road challenge (Rally) event.

Its pretty sad when you can't go full throttle till 130mph like that supra. I know its an unprepared course but jeesh.

I've been wanting to do one of those events for 2 years now. Their is one in North Carolina last time I checked. Problem is that I'd have to invest more in safety equipment for the car and driver than I currently have invested in the performance of the whole car.
