I just happened to pop in for the sheer hell of it. Pretty sad. Oh well, everything is temporary.
I AM back to frequenting the OT forum--I took a break from there for just about 2 years.
Hello, all.

I pop in once in awhile too. But figure when the 99-00 Civic Si came out it was a big deal and we were all 7 years younger. Now it's 2008 and all of us have matured (for the most part) to better cars.
Hell some of us graduated to the Honda Odyssey since I have 2 kids and a 3rd on the way.

Gamby....I can't believe your still around....
I could say the same for all of you folks!!! I took a year or 2 off, but came back last year--only to OT, though. The Honda scene is fairly desolate now.
What's everyone driving???
My EM1 has seen about 2000 miles in the past 2 years--tucked away in the garage indefinitely. DD is a 95 EG DX w/ a d16z6 swap. Cheap little beater that a friend built to do HPDE's and then never ended up tracking it.
Boring, obsolete, but it gets me A-->B @ 38mpg. Fun appliance.
back to OT to argue about stuff...

I sold my 00 Civic Si with 80k miles on it June 2006. Now I regret ever selling. It was the 1st NEW car I ever bought and I babied her so well (well except for autocrossing her 40 times a year). I am actually infact looking for another clean 99-00 Civic Si in EBP. Since SCCA decided to bump the EM1 to HS last year I think it would or might do well.
I'm also looking for a 88-91 CRX Si for STS2 competition and/or a Miata. Also looked into the S2000 as the prices keep dropping on them.

I've heard this SO many times that it's one of the primary reasons I'm hanging onto mine. I don't think I want to be one of those dudes who sold his musclecar in 1978 and then scrambles to get another one later in life. I have the garage space, so I'll keep it.
quicksi--what kind of Benz did you get? Pics? Mod it at all? (they do look nice w/ aftermarket wheels and a drop)

Well I also sold her for finacial reasons. I've never really fully recovered from loosing my job in 2002. Still trying to play catch up on medical bills, mortgage, insurance and feed and clothes the kids.
So for those who are in the mood for donations I could use some Although I just a got a promotion at work now with a raise. I hope this will help a little.

I'm not an old CSi'r, but I would like to see this forum become more active. I'm always up for meeting others in the area, or if they're traveling up my way(Burlington, VT).
Plus, it's nice to discuss issues that others don't have, like snow and mud. :P

Still didn't forget CivicRacerEXr when he came to State College for an AutoX spin... Ahh good times
That scared the crap out of me when I did. I came within 2-4 feet of the landing lights. I was up there in 2005 with my 91 Civic Si and had like FTD and PAX by over a second or more.

Good Lord it looks like everyone showed up for this thread at some point. I was just thinking about it and thought I should visit. I can not believe I remembered my password. It has been since 2006 since my last apperience. My Civic has been gone since 2005. I had to sell it to replace my septic system on my house. So I literally shit it away and sonce then I have driven a Subaru to the ground. It is hard to believe the time has past. I am now married with my 3rd on the way in the next week or so. I am back to a Honda but it is no Si. The good old Pilot. I call it the Daddy mobile. I refuse to drive a minivan so this is the next thing. But it is great to use when I take the family to upstate NY to snow mobile in the winter.
I remember the days of Englishtown, the lunch trucks at Rutgers and the Liberty State Park meets (even the pre-9/11 days), Celia's house and all the other Saturday events. Back then I had all the time in the world. All I worried about was my car. Now, it is a shame that it is lucky I wash them. It is hard enough to keep the kids food picked up. The days. I feel now if I was still driving my Si I would feel like the old guy wanting to be young. As said before we have all matured. Also, from what I have seen on here and on the road it will never be the same as it was in the old school days....... See you all around.

Guess ill throw in my two cents as well...I still check out clubsi pretty often and once in a blue moon ill come back to the northeast board to see whats going on. Like everyone before me said, "those were the days" I bought my Si brand new at age 19 right out of HS thanks to a decent job at the time and hell it was only 17,000 brand new. My SI story is pretty funny. My first car was an 87 honda prelude SI that I bought from my neighbor for 600 bucks with 198,000 miles. I loved the car so much that I wanted to buy a new civic. I went to the local honda dealership back in march of 1999 looking to buy a Civic HX. At the time the import scene was infant! Anyway a long story short this particular dealership received their first two SI's and were sitting on the truck waiting to be unloaded.I took one glance at that milano red on the truck and the next thing I know im signing papers for it. I didnt even know what the SI was! the dealer didnt have a clue either..
I sold my Si back in October of 2002 with 56,000 miles on it. Never had one problem with the car itself but the main reason for selling it was the theft issue with the SI at the time. They started to get robbed left and right around the area and im actually surprised mine never got stolen with no security whats so ever. I even parked it outside on the street every night. I really hated the fact that if I went somewhere I was always worried if the car would still be there when I got done whatever I was doing. The insecurity drove me nuts for a daily driver I traded it in for a 2003 vw gti.
Well now im 26. still have the gti, and even bought an old 92 accord beater that just turned 203,000 miles and still running strong to take me back to those good ole honda days. I remember the meets and at the time life seemed so care free! I guess getting older really stinks! I miss those meets, the members I become good friends with esp JoshuaVtec/TypeX just two off the top of my head. Well hope everyone is doing well!
I still dont know what happened with the NorthEast board as far as people leaving. I guess there was drama but as from what?? I have no clue! still dont...I just know people left..

i remember a time back in 99-02 when this forum (NE) was bumpin....now no new posts? kinda makes me sad.....LittleBadAss (Lauren)
Yea I remember how there were plans regular meets and a lot of inside jokes going on here.
You had the blue Si didn't you Lauren?
It looks like there are a few familiar names here again. Nice to see everyone. I just stopped by recently to see what's new here.
Since '02 I sold my 1975 Porsche 914, sold my '99 SV650, bought and sold a 94 neon sport sedan, and still have my '00 ZX2 S/R and used the money from selling my vehicles to go back to school for another degree. The past few years I've spent more time wrenching on other people's cars instead of racing my own. I helped build the SRT-4 that won Car & Driver's Super Four challenge in 2005.

Don't worry, it hasn't changed a whole lot with some of them, but I try to keep them in check.

Well the last time I dynoed my ZX2, it put down more torque at the wheels than msot S2000's and new Civic Si's I've seen dynoed.
Also, I'll have a lot more torque soon. I'll be picking up my new Mustang GT later this week.

Do you have the pics from years ago when me, you, Lauren and some others went to ground zero?
Thanks
Justin
I didn't check on this thread in weeks, sorry! I do have the pictures, I will post them up shortly.

Holy crap. I remember all of those events. I saw my old Si in a lot of the photos. There was everything on there. Liberty State Park meets, the Statin Island BBQs, DD in Union, Penn State and a few others. You have to love the picture of Lauren, I think if memory serves me she was installing a sway bar underneath her car. I was going through the pics with a coworker and we saw myself in a few and boy did I look young now. He could not believe what 7 years has done to me.
The good old days. I know there are more pics out there. If you have them post them...
