but...but...but, muh baadddgggeee.

granted...this fucking 1.5T honda motor, reliable but fuck me with the "other" issues right now lol

not to mention honda still sucks for heating up the cabin, jfc.

What’s with all the fuel dilution on the 1.5T and Honda’s shitty fix for it is to try and warm the engine up faster by dumping more fuel?

no comment and I dunno lol

What’s with the transmission in the new RDX. Another turd? LOL

everything's a turd these days so you know what that means? the world is full of shit lol

Not sure if this is the problem for N55 - specifically because the TSB calls out the crankshaft.

I don’t understand why this has all of a sudden become a thing since the motor has been out since 2011.

wear/tear, moisture build up within the block (each car wears differently, oil/gas dilution differs depending on how often customer did it, etc.). then well...get some freezing cold days in and by chance had a bunch of moisture built up in there, freezes up...bazinga motor go boom. rare tho. i've seen just starters freeze up, and once a v6 older ridgeline motor went. but that was thru many winters in fort mac, alberta where it is -40c and less manyyy days of the year lol.

hat0r, rdx trannies are fine. as usual prob in need of software update. these new fangled electronic thingamajiges all built into these mechanicals what's it nows. lulz

Hey guys, haven't been on for a while. Still these. Ford F-150 as a daily, NX2000 in the garage, as a track car which hasn't been used in way too long.

update on n55 from 1 engine tear down.
it was found that it was the rear most bearing that seized. The hypothesis is that the frigid cold didn't play well with the *revised* bmw spec oil for N55's, causing bearing failure and then crankshaft seizing.

Castrol no longer provides for bmw. i dont know what the revised spec is, but it obviously is terrible.

Hah, it's just a 240. Ain't that special.

I wax both cars and they're garaged all the time. No coatings or anything. Maybe I'm weird, but I like waxing \:\)

Did you get the 5 litre? I did, and I like it. I know it makes less power, but it's more simple, will be easier to fix

Mine is a 2014, so 360 hp/380 tq. Works for me. I'm glad I got the last year of the steel body because I have magnetic decals for work and I can just peel them off when I use it as a personal vehicle.

Does anyone know if Acura is getting the new RDX issues all sorted out for the 2020 model? Seems like a great package aside from all of the issues being reported. They also need to get all of the options on the A Spec appearance package

Cough cough screamin’

Ive had zero issues with my RDX. Brakes can be a tad loud when damp/cold but otherwise its been really solid. Im hoping the powertrain makes it into the next TLX.

^ looks like a good deal, but you have to wonder when someone posting something so unique with a large amount invested into it can't take the time to craft a post explaining the car.

Glad to hear it’s been trouble free for you. Might be early model issues.
