Basically you ship your stuff to them on the US side, and they bring it over the border for you and deliver to the GTA. It all (seems) legit with regard to declaring, duties, taxes, then they tack on their own service fee. They will have to open your box and want a copy of your invoice.

I wouldn't use it since I enjoy going down to the area for the day, but for those with busier schedules I can see there being some good benefit.

A lot of the time shopping in the US doesn't come down to saving $. Much of it is based on selection, and availability.

About 40% difference b/w US and CDN $ now.
Not worth getting anything from the US.

$1 US = $1.39 CDN

if things turn into like they were 12 or so years ago (at least with respect to car parts) it still made more sense to shop in the states as our prices were so much higher.

Though we have seen that gap close in recent times.

Don't use it for some products, I got robbed by customs.

I use to hate restoration hardware's stupid 20% flat fee for shipping/taxes but realized that it's not too bad (they now charge a $200 flat shipping fee after I furnished my house with their overpriced furniture).

I ordered a sactional from lovesac... free shipping to US + crossborderpickups to help me import to Canada so why not. After all said and done, I think I paid 32% in handling, taxes, duties and I had to pick it up from their airport warehouse, which wasn't too bad as I had access to a landscape trailer.

I find that by using CBP instead of yourself, you are very likely to pay duties. Duties on Chinese furniture is quite high at 9%.

Some prices in Canada are not reflected by the recent FX like Apple products (iPad is $500 US or $550 CA), some designer goods, etc... I just came back from Miami and I didn't bring much back even though I get paid in USD (might as well convert to CAD and buy it locally and avoid the hassle of bringing it back to Canada).

Apple adjusted prices in May, and I am sure they will do the same again soon, considering the free fall that the loonie has been in.
