typically a street car has to have a significant weight reduction to "feel" a difference...the general rule of thumb is for every 100lbs you take off you gain 1/10 of a second in 0-60mph(sometimes more or less)...if you TOTALLY strip the inside of your car of everything you dont need..carpet, sound deadner, backseat, front passenger seat, dash controls(such as heater, a/c controls, radio din. etc.....everthing but main dash and gauges), spare tire out of trunk, other intrerior moldings..you MIGHT pick up a second faster in 0-60mph(could be less or more depending on car)...but slimming down your car will help overall perfofmance

Giving up yor whole interior definitely isnt worth it for a street car. I have my hatch apart right now. Pulled front & rear seats, carpet, seatbelts, headliner, door panels, rear plastic panels, inside of tail gate, rear washer motor, heater core, blower motor, SRS sensors, module & harness, sound deadening, spare, jack... Going to put the front seats & dash back in & call it a day.
and from the engine I deleted power steering lines & resivior, washer fluid resivior & lines, charcoal canister, and got a lighter battery. never had A/C also thinking about pulling the wiper motor and wipers, but i'd be screwed if I got caught in a storm.... as mentioned, Ligher wheels make a big difference, using the rims from a 96 HX @ 11.75 lb each.
a bucket of sound deadening

easy stuff to remove. rear seats, rear paneling, your floormats, all of the stuff in the trunk... keep ur spare if your daily driving, lighter (relocated) battery, wheels n tires, fiberglass seats, and a.c
all the stuff is pretty easy if you do the A/c use the helm's manual
