Been on this self made up work out routine for the past 29 consecutive days, where I hike one day and workout the next, and as part of the routine, I do push ups every other day...about 100 total in 4 sets. I've always always struggled with chest and hate bench press, felt like I could never really see any gains but with the push ups, Im seeing, and feeling, real progress out of basically 14 workouts. Maybe I was doing bench press wrong or maybe my body just responds better to this? Bench I'd so something like 3 or 4 sets of 12 reps, whereas with push ups this morning it was 37-30-17-16. |

They each have a purpose. Like running and backpacking are different, but both compliment each other since they do use the same muscles. I've always hated push-ups personally. But my chest responds well to bench, my arms have always been slow to respond. There's probably some neuro-muscular aspects. CN: do anything over nothing, but ideally do both |

I do 100 everyday at work...usually 5 sets of 20 between meetings/calls. I've noticed a huge difference in appearance and strength. |
