Home Gym: Phase 1 is complete

I was looking to have my own space to do strength workouts outside of crossfit. I don't need anything fancy, just a squat rack and pullup bar and a decent amount of weights.

Picked up a garage rig from Fringe Sport along with about 400lbs of bumper plates, an olympic bar, some rings and dumbbells.

Going to clear out some more space in the next few weeks (get rid of the cheap plastic cabinet), paint the backer board and put in a few more pieces of equipment.

You realize this is a competition grade piece of gear right? I mean, you get what you pay for.

Which is essentially worthless as a home gym.

Still nice now that I said that.

Although it looks really crowded and I personally wouldn't want to squat or bench without safety bars. Especially when home alone.

That second pad, farthest away from the wall, is going to move on you.

LOL.

1. Worthless? Not for what I'm doing.

2. Squatting without safety bars isn't a problem when you know how to bail or dump out of a squat.

3. Those pads are horse stall mats. They weigh over 100lbs per and believe me they aren't going anywhere

Dumping is fine, it's just unnecessary.

Yes, even for what you're doing it's overkill. But again, it's over...so it's all good.

Come back when you lift real weight and you can tell me what overkill is.

Lol, you've been lifting maybe 68 minutes and yore genetically large.

Whatever dude. You're awesome with your 600 dollar bar and 100lbs mats.

Even though, for your size, you're weaker than I am relative to mine.

PM for pointers.

for someone who has been on this website for long, there is a reason why he's called gigantor. He hasn't been int he gym for a long time, but that doesn't take away the fact he has muscle maturity and was trying out to play semi-pro or pro football almost 8 years ago if I remember correctly.

There was not one person who dared talk shit to Brian or questioned his strength because he was doing shit you'd only dream of. He's getting back into things, and for you to say your advice is more sound or relative when you 8 years ago were nowhere near his level is comical.

Don't get butthurt if everyone doesn't take your advice or bites back dude.

I don't laugh at crossfit, I laugh at the shitty coaching. The right programming depending on an individuals goals can get you far. problem is there is no individual focus in general with crossfit. only to build yourself up to what we think is optimal for you to do.

Okay, ENOUGH.

There's already one thread in this forum that's about to turn into a shitfest. Not going to tolerate another. Of all the posts in this thread, only one doesn't involve baiting or fighting. The fuck, guys? This isn't OT. We're not going to shit up threads.
