Rerack your weights

Dumbbells, plates...put them back where they belong.

That is all.

Re: Rerack your weights

Speaking of lazy, some jackamo was using the squat rack and left one of the EZ bars complete with weights sitting in the middle of it.

Re: Rerack your weights

The other day someone reracked the 2.5 and 5lb weights in front of 45s on the flat bench weight tree. Guy walks up, instead of moving the 2.5 and 5s out of the way and reracking them, he proceeds to throw them on the floor 5-10 feet from the bench like the weights were an insult to him being in his way

Re: Rerack your weights

I let the peons rack my heavy ass weights. Love leaving the 90 lb plates on the leg thing for the women to deal with

Re: Rerack your weights

Probably just some odd OCD kicking in, but I use my rest time between sets to 'clean up' the gym. I'll re-organize weights and even spray down bars and benches with the disinfectant. People probably think I work there haha. I'll make sure I bert stare someone if I'm putting weights away that they used and failed to put back. Passive aggressive at it's finest!

Re: Rerack your weights

Word, there's only a few retards at my gym who do this. Irritates the fuck out of me, I've started to just take over whatever they're using if they are bouncing around machines or benches and tell them I thought they were done and can never tell as they don't put their weights away and say they can wait for me to finish. Then I uppercut them and scream HELL YEAH BROTHER

You guys really need to get your own equipment if you have a house/basement/spare room. My biggest gym issue is when my dog licks my face during a set.

Re: Rerack your weights

I just can't get motivated to train at home... I like the gym atmosphere, the large space, etc...

If I had a huge area to dedicate to a training room, and had a shit load of equipment / dumbbells maybe I could get into it... but for $10 a month, and the convienence I enjoy my gym... there are things I would change about it for sure, but for the price, and the equipment, you can't beat it...

Re: Rerack your weights

$10/month is cheap. Most here are $40+. But I much prefer heading home after a long day of work and working out in peace, with TV on the channel I want, dogs/wife keeping me company, fan directly on me as required, no waiting for anything. I can start dinner halfway through as well.

If I was a member of an awesome club close to home, maybe I'd see it differently, but a lot of them just don't cut it for me.

You make good points... Luckily for me me I train in the AM so having to wait for anything is not an issue on most days...

If I didn't live in an apartment, I would definitely do this. I'm not motivated to drive to a gym and deal with the dumbshits that take up space to talk about last nights game. I want to work out and leave, not socialize.

I'd be more willing to exercise if it was more convenient to me vs. having to go out of the way to do it.

Re: Rerack your weights

No spotter at home.
Plus I use the company gym, meaning I get access to showers and drying room if I decide to run/cycle to work or at lunch. If I'm going to pay either way I might as well work out there. That said, the gym at work is pretty shitty.

Wife can spot, plus I use the stops in case i fail when I'm alone.

I'm not doing that much weight, but I still wouldn't want someone to spot who couldn't help if something went bad.
And as far as stops, I'm not sure how much they'd help. Either they'd be too high and interfere with ROM or they'd be so low I'd still be pinned.
I guess at a little low, a spouse could pull the plates off, and you'd be probably be ok. But I'd rather a spotter who could get involved before that happened if I had a bad rep. Like I said, it's probably paranoia.

Re: Rerack your weights

My wife can spot enough for the most part. They just typically add light assistance for the most part. Most spotters are going to have an issue yanking 200-300 lbs off your chest. If something goes really wrong (dislocation, tear, etc) a spotter isn't likely going to be fast enough to catch falling weight either.

The only two exercises where stops are required are squats and bench. Squats are obvious enough. Bench is simple, I can easily bring the bar to my chest and go full range of motion. If I fail, I bring the weight down, roll towards my neck and then it will hit the stops and I slide out. Been doing it for a decade.

I'm thinking worst case scenario if my knee gave way or something crazy. The stops will keep the bar from landing on me - but either way, I have no issues working out.

I've had my share of bad spots at the gym lol 25 second rep.

Lol. I actually thought of this thread this morning while at the gym.

Fucking. Weights. Everywhere. What the hell? How the fuck hard is it to put shit back where you got it from? Ugh.
