2013 SI NY

Hey what's up guys, I just recently purchased my 2013 white 4 door SI. I was wondering what to do. What will happen if I take out the cat and put a straight pipe all the way to the muffler? Will I get a check engine light and will I pass an inspection? I'm also in the market for a short ram intake. What should I do?

i wouldn't waste money on a short ram intake. Those things are pointless.

IN regards to a straight pipe, you'll get a CEL because you'll most likely delete the second O2 sensor behind the cat. I would suggest looking up the utility that fakes the second 02 sensor out so you don't get any check engine lights.

As far as visual inspection is concerned you'll cause issues if your straight pipe doesn't look like a car.

Purchase a K&N air filter and leave the stock box alone, you want airflow and most likely the design of the 2013 airbox pulls air from the outside rather than the engine bay, unless i'm gravely mistaken. However, a short ram intake doesn't clear the engine bay and you suck in the nice hot engine airl which defeats the point of the intake.
